Still seeking our all-you-can-eat restaurant, upon our return to Buenos Aires (and the same hotel), our concierge directed us to Rodizio, of which I looked up the meaning once back in the States and discovered that Rodizio is the style of cuisine (where the Brazilian restaurants keep bringing you more and more meat), not churrascaria. Oops! This is going to be a picture-intensive post, so bear with me. Also, keep in mind while looking at these pictures, this entire meal cost us $27 USD. Bread with tangy butter spread on the table As soon as we sat down, they served [...]

The thing about adventure is that sometimes you have to seek it, sometimes it seeks you. Sometimes it’s dangerous, and sometimes it’s not; sometime it’s totally worth the risk and other times… well, you get the picture. But it is always a good story later. StB will attest to this. On our second night in Buenos Aires, we were debating between two restaurants somewhat close to each other. He strongly recommended dulce de leche and we all got variations on this (mine, above, is straight dulce de leche; two of the girls got dulce de leche con chocolat which had huge chocolate chips as well, and one girl got something I forgot). The funniest part was that looking at the price list, which was different [...]

Breakfast at our boutique hotel, Esplendor Buenos Aires, was a quiet affair. Nothing that will knock your socks off, but a decent assortment of choices including yogurt (packaged, drinkable, and even fresh), medialunas (a sort of Argentinian croissant, but smaller and less buttery) both sweet and “savory”, fruits, scrambled eggs, sausages, various breads and lots of spread for those breads… and cereals. Fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, tea… not bad considering it was included in the price of our stay. The hotel itself was a gorgeous, modern affair on the inside, with lots of bold artwork everywhere- a huge mosaic-style [...]
