A while back, I met up with the lovely Sarah of Fritos and Foie Gras (two of my favorite things to eat – though I’ve yet to find them on a menu together…) for a quick dessert-date. We wound up at the Lady M by Bryant Park.
Since we’d both had the green tea and vanilla versions in the past, we chose to try the chocolate mille crepe cake instead. Part of the reason their other versions are so popular – aside from how delicious they are – is because of how light and airy the cakes are, with crepes that melt away ethereally in your mouth. You might expect chocolate to be a bit rich and heavy, but somehow this cake tastes chocolatey without weighing you down. The cream doesn’t coat your mouth or your throat, but instead melts away easily in your mouth and slips down your throat to be digested. So good and light… yum.
We also had the almond croissant, which was flaky and light, spiked with almonds. I prefer other almond croissants, but theirs was good… just not my favorite or the best I’ve had.
Overall – definitely recommend and will definitely be back, especially now that they are opening locations more convenient to me.

Now I want a cheese croissant or a piece of Smith Island Cake.
Guess I will have to do with the s’mores pie in my fridge.
What do I always say? Never come here when I am hungry. 😀
