I’ll be honest with you.
I’ve already told you that I’m pretty much out of things to post. This post exists solely because I really like the photos I took of my reading snack one Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago.
I’ve already mentioned how I like meats & cheeses for a quick appetizer when I have company. But I also like it sometimes in place of a meal (or, if I’m being a bit piggy, as a snack). I recently fixed myself this glorious platter to enjoy while reading a book, cozy up in my arm chair that doesn’t get enough use… and snapped a few photos that turned out remarkably well, in my opinion.
And kinda… when it comes to me… my opinion is the one that counts!
From top left, clockwise around: St. Andres triple creme; baguette from La Boulangerie; Applegate farms genoa salami; raw milk cheddar from Vermont; pepperoni; pickles and oil brined olives; 12 year aged parmagiano reggiano; cucumber slices; center is a bunch of grapes.
Just a few of my favorite things: delicious, high calorie, and delicious.
And why not a brief semi-announcement/question: I’ve been slowly picking out photos I’ve taken over the years that I particularly like, and putting them on canvas to hang in my apartment. I’m likely going to do this with one of the above as well.
(I have done it with this photo, from this post… and this photo, which doesn’t have a post.)
Would any of you be interested in ordering canvases of my photos? As I’m just toying with the idea, I don’t have a price list and am just gauging interest for now.
Let me know!
What’s your favorite snack for when you’re reading?

Mmm, that sounds like a fun snack…

I know I would. I have a Tadpole wall in my office [the beginning of one anyway – hey, we just moved. 🙂 ] And it would make a lovely centerpiece. You do take some awesome pics.
I make snacks like this for Steven and I on lazy Sunday afternoons while we are waiting for dinner to cook. Not quite as nice, mind you, but you have given me some amazing additions I wouldn’t have thought of. He always say, when I serve up this quickie, that I am the best wife. [Yeah, ’cause, like, I worked so hard slicing, right?]
And my favorite snack when I am reading? Probably peanut butter toast. So lame.

Mine just looks nice, I’m sure yours are delicious! Mm, I could use some peanut butter toast right now 🙂

PS – PLEASE don’t stop blogging. I could read your explanation of paint drying. Seriously. I would miss you too much. And don’t tell me to get my fix on Twitter. I suck at Twitter. You know this. 🙂

I love snacky plates! Most friday nights i’m too exhausted to cook or go out and will make a plate with marinated mushrooms, sliced apple, olives, almonds, raw veggies and pita chips with hummus…. And a glass of wine. Easy and sooo good.
I read late at night so often i have a mug of sleepytime tea and a few nibbles of dk chocolate and candied ginger

That sounds like a fantastic Friday night meal. I love it!
