Nespresso Boutique SoHo

February 15, 2012 by Feisty Foodie 5 Comments

The second to last day of the year found me trying to get rid of all my vouchers that expired the next day.  First up: Nespresso Cafe breakfast vouchers that I was gifted very long ago.  I tagged TC to join me, and we had quite an opposite-day breakfast…

Our server took a brief moment to look over our voucher but gave us no problem, explaining what part of the menu we could choose from.  Any drink, and from a small section in the breakfast area.  TC chose the above – a macchiato…

and I chose a dark chocolate indulgence.  Anyone who saw these two photos and knows both of us would have immediately guessed I ordered the macchiato, not for my love of macchiatos but for his love of chocolate, the assumption would be he ordered the above – chocolate gelato, a coffee infused with chocolate and topped with dark chocolate shavings?  I found this really lovely, and even better with some chocolate gelato mixed in.  Yum.  Yes, I had gelato for breakfast.

For breakfast, TC chose the baguette, toasted, with jam and butter.  Again, anyone who knows me would have thought I’d choose this one…

and he’d choose this, the croissants, almond and chocolate.  We did share everything, but still.  The chocolate croissant was quite lovely, but I really enjoyed the almond croissant.  I’m discovering how much I love almond croissants, and while this wasn’t the bestest ever, it was very good, flaky, with a lot of almond flavor.  The baguette was good too.

Yvo says: Everything was very tasty, and I love the atmosphere at Nespresso. It’s interesting that the cafe is downstairs while the store is upstairs, so a lot of people enter through the cafe portion, but still very relaxing with attentive but unobtrusive service.  This is definitely a nice treat to fuel you before a SoHo shopping trip!

Something about almond cream and frangipane that just does it for me. Still have to make that myself soon!

It really must’ve been opposites day that morning. ;P

A very nice start to the day. The “latte macchiato” was pleasant.
I really like buttery crossants but I also love a good baguette!!

Thanks again for sharing the voucher and breakfast with me.

Thanks for letting me share everything! And a good baguette is pretty hard to beat. My French roots definitely show sometimes – I can live happily on classic baguette, cheese, charcuterie, and some wine 😉
