T-Fal Actifry Giveaway!!!

June 22, 2011 by Feisty Foodie

It’s time for the third June giveaway in my giveaway-a-week! Ready for this?

Remember when I attended the launch of the T-Fal Actifry (and Beer Boor wrote it up)?  T-Fal has generously agreed to provide one unit to a lucky Feisty Foodie reader!!!  MSRP: $249!!!  The machine (referral link: feel free to buy one through the link!) is pretty cool – I haven’t received mine yet, but – well, read the article Beer Boor wrote, and decide for yourself if you want one.  🙂

Here’s how to enter:
Leave a comment below telling us what the first thing you’ll make in your brand new T-Fal Actifry is.  That’s it.  Simple, right?

Brownie points for fanning The Feisty Foodie on Facebook, but that would just make us here at The Feisty Foodie really happy, and won’t increase your chances of winning.  We’re aiming for 1,000 fans by the end of the month.  You can help!

Enter below, and GOOD LUCK!!!

Edited to add: I’m thrilled at the enthusiasm people are displaying for the T-Fal Actifry, but please note that THIS IS NOT A DEEP FRYER in the traditional sense. This is T-Fal’s foray into the healthy fry lifestyle, and is a very unique machine. Please, please, please read the review I linked, or the Amazon link for full info and other people’s reviews, so you know what you are entering to win – I don’t want anyone to be disappointed when their food turns into a pile of mush (from the stirring action of the machine) after adding foods that are way too soft to stand up to the power of the Actifry! Good luck!

The usual fineprint: I received no monetary compensation for this post.  Limited to residents of the continental US only.  Contest ends late Tuesday/early Wednesday of next week and will be chosen at random.

I want to learn how to fry onion rings, beer battered naturally. So that would totally be first.

      June 22, 2011 at 2:48 pm

Methinks you need to reread the post I wrote…

        June 22, 2011 at 2:51 pm

I did! It’s a light fryer I suppose. Are you going to respond to everyone below me too?

        • BeerBoor says

          June 22, 2011 at 2:55 pm

No, you’re just the easiest to respond to (and I figured I’d get a response in return). Batter doesn’t work in the ActiFry.

You could do a milk bath and then coat a la fried chicken, though. But your heart is in the right place, and waiting to be clogged.

French fries, straight up. So I can dunk them in homemade garlicky mayo/aoli.

  6. Maria says

CHIPS!!! I’m looking at you white potatoes, sweet potatoes, yuca, parsnips, beets, turnips and plantains.

Or some homemade mozzarella sticks. Everytime I try to fry they expolde and cheese melts everywhere.

    RIBS! (yup – I’m Rib-obsessed)

Could someone who is actually eligible for this (and lives in NYC) win it and make me fried ribs? Please? Anyone?

    • T.C. says

      June 22, 2011 at 2:58 pm

If I win, you can borrow it to make your own fried ribs…or get TT to do it for you.

I just got engaged last Thursday and this is totally one of the things on my registry! I have this fantastic recipe for mozzarella sticks that I make in the oven, but of course they’d be better fried.

  12. Jenn says

    June 22, 2011 at 2:46 pm

chicken. Chicken. CHICKEN! I never make it at home because it’s just too much hassle.

Along with some sweet potato fries, because I really, really want to make and try some.

  13. TT says

    Beef Carpaccio!

    • CheeeeEEEEse says

      June 22, 2011 at 2:58 pm

You are so weird, but I support this out of the box thinking.

  14. Andrea says

    June 22, 2011 at 2:49 pm

I am not sure that it would do a good job on my beloved fried chicken, so I think the first thing that I would try would be french fries.
Next would be a risotto, because risotto is delicious and I don’t eat it frequently enough. (I looked up the product on Amazon….they say it makes risotto. Not what I would necessarily expect from a fryer, but still awesome!)

  15. Becky says

    June 22, 2011 at 2:49 pm

Sweet potato fries for sure!! I tried the whole let’s be healthy and bake the darn things but every time they turn out awful. I’d love to reap sweet vengeance on the haters and throw those babies in the T-Fal. Thanks for the opportunity and your generosity!

  16. Jenifer says

    June 22, 2011 at 2:50 pm

I would definitely do some sausage peppers and onions…sounds yummy!!!

  17. Carol says

    June 22, 2011 at 2:51 pm

first, chicken wings, then cover them with garlicky soy sauce. then to potatoes, thin, thick, julienned, then a garlic and butter/olive oil coating. last, cauliflower because i had this dish recently and want more!!

  18. John De Large says

    June 22, 2011 at 2:57 pm

I’d like to try my own sweet and spicy meatballs (the sauce is grape jelly and ketchup with a little hot sauce thrown in for heat, amazingness!) and make my own fries so I can have gravy cheese fries or pizza fries at home on the cheat day of my diet instead of going out.

  19. Alessa says

    June 22, 2011 at 3:08 pm

I would try french fries first of course. I’m a fry addict. Steak fries. I saw this product on Dr. Oz and have read all the reviews and been debating on buying it. Its a big chunk of change and the reviews are discussing the quality of the equipment, so I just don’t know….

BUT IF I COULD WIN ONE, that would make my day!

  20. esther says

    June 22, 2011 at 3:14 pm

I would looooooooooooooove to make some duck in one of these! I think the amount of natural duck fat would be a great thing to make in this. 😀 And then I would make Korean Fried Chicken – Bon Chon style!!!

  21. Yin says

I would follow one of the recipese that always come with these types of appliances, as @BeerBoors reviews seemed to say this wasn’t your Momma’s Fry Daddy.

    • BeerBoor says

      June 22, 2011 at 5:07 pm

Hey, I LOVED my Fry Daddy. My roommates after college didn’t appreciate my indifference to changing the oil periodically, but that was no concern of mine.
