Hickory Farms not only sponsored that cool contest recently, they also sent me my own Party Planner pack to sample and eat.
So I put together my own private party one evening – my TV night, actually (yes, once a week, I have a night I dedicate to TV; I don’t watch that much TV in general, but the shows I do watch tend to be on Thursday nights, with one exception) – and threw together a meats & cheeses board. As I mentioned in the original post, if you had this box on hand, all you need to do is slice up some bread along with the cheese and meats, throw it on a wooden cutting board, open a bottle of wine, instant party.
Here I sliced up the mild Mission Jack Blend along with the Italian seasoned beef summer sausage, and a bit of baguette from Panera (I visited earlier in the day and brought one home with me). The mild cheddar/jack blend went well with the strong beef sausage, and the baguette was perfect as always.
I also opened up the cranberry mustard, which was not very mustardy nor cranberry-y, but quite a sweet counterplay of tastes spread on the baguette with some cheese and sausage. I liked the sweetness balancing out the saltiness of the sausage, and the mild cheese just dancing in the background. Yum!
Hope this gave you more ideas for what to do with your meats&cheeses!
Happy eating!
PS Remember, until the end of the year, for every person that simply “likes” Hickory Farms on Facebook, they will donate $1 to Share Our Strength, a really great charity that strives to complete the vision that no child should ever go hungry. If you have a Facebook account, please spare a second to just click on a button so this charity can get up to $10,000! Hickory Farms has also pledged to donate $5 from the sale of each Signature Party Planner ($40, pictured above), up to $500,000! Two great ways to help out this amazing charity- during this time of year filled with excess, we often forget those who are less fortunate than ourselves, and this only takes a minute to help them in a small way. Thank you!
The usual disclaimer applies: I got this for free, but was under no obligation to post an opinion at all, positive or negative. No monetary compensation, blah blah blah.
