Why should I win Project Food Blog?

September 17, 2010 by Feisty Foodie 10 Comments

It’s really simple why I should be the next food blog star: I’m awesome.  Okay, really, it’s because I’m passionate about food, learning about it, but most of all, eating it in all shapes, sizes, forms, whatever.  If it tastes good, I’ll eat it!  I know taste is purely subjective, but I am always willing to re-try foods that I didn’t like in the past, just to see if maybe my taste buds have changed and maybe now it is something I will enjoy as well.  Afterall, if a food exists, and people out there find it tasty, isn’t it worth giving it a shot – even if I might think it’s “weird” – just to see if maybe I will find it tasty, too?

I’m constantly challenging myself, testing new limits and really trying to get out there and eat it all, from the Cheesesteak Chowdown, where I ate cheesesteaks from 6 different places all around Philadelphia – driving straight from NYC, eating the cheesesteaks, then going to a Phillies/Mets game before driving back home – to the Cupcake Crawl, where my best friend and I ate 10 cupcakes from 5 places in the space of, um, maybe 5 hours…

I’ve been making my way around the world, eating anything, wherever, whenever – that’s a candid-ish shot of me wolfing down food on Machu Picchu – yes, the mountain! – including some things other people don’t really want to eat (lamb brain in Turkey, cuy in Peru, taking the scary backroads for authentic food in Argentina…).

Most of all, though, it’s really that passion I mentioned earlier for all things food that tells me I should win this.  Eating, cooking, exploring; I want to do it all, to know it all, and I’m ecstatic that the journey that lays ahead of me just keeps getting better and better.

I look forward to Project Food Blog as it unfolds, regardless of my status as contestant or observer.  Good luck to all the other contestants and thank you to the judges for reading all the entries!!!

And to my dearest readers, please remember to vote for me 🙂

As always, happy eating!

PS It doesn’t hurt that I quit my job in January to return to school full time and pursue food blogging… so winning this would really drive home that I am doing the right thing! And I can use the money. 😉 (Ok, I admit, I know I’m doing the right thing… some days is just harder to remember that :))

YVo should win because she is so passionate about what she does, I believe when she was in womb she was writing about what her mother was eating and how it might have been prepares. She was born with this gift and remind me of this every time post a blog.
