Project 365: Day 27

I received about half a dozen messages asking me how I was enjoying my ‘first day of freedom’ today.  If I’d been in a nastier mood (which almost happened), I’d have yelled “WHAT FREEDOM!?” at everyone.  The morning started off with snow, falling thick & fast, the trek to my mother’s to pick up my beloved Blue Thunder, then driving to school a bit … well, nervous! The visibility was really low; I used to drive a V8 SUV with great pickup and AWD (4WD?), and great visibility.  Now I’m driving a teeny car that all the trucks tower over… It’ll take getting used to.  But I’m getting there, as I drove around a bit today in my baby (picked up AB for grub & groceries, to chat a bit).  Of course, when I got to school, I realized I’d left my schedule at home (no time to print out more copies yesterday at work), plus I couldn’t find parking.  I wound up parking super far, such that I didn’t even know where I was.  Then I had to run to the comp labs – which were packed – and try to log on – the system was super laggy because of so many people trying to log on – and get the room numbers of the day’s classes!  Whoops.

I wound up about 40 minutes late to my first class, but the professor was super nice.  My second class was speech communications; the professor issued a challenge (not literally, but I heard “CHALLENGE”) that I think I may take even though I HATE public speaking (I know, I know, you don’t believe me, right?).  We shall see… but school (pictured above – after the snow had stopped and most of it melted away) is off to a decent start, I think.

Take the good for what it is and ignore the bad because it ain’t no thang.  🙂

I still have recurring nightmares that I forget my class schedule, can’t get it online, and end up missing a class for an entire semester. And I graduated almost 8 years ago.

I have this idea firmly embedded in my mind that if I’m going to show up late for class, I’m better off not going. I don’t like that feeling of walking in to a room during a lecture. Maybe that’s why my grades are slipping…
