Standard operating procedure in the Feisty Family is that every holiday calls for a big feast, and Lunar New Year is no exception!

And as usual, a picture of my first plate! A little bit of everything makes for a happy, full tummy!
How did you spend Lunar New Year? What do you find yourself eating every Lunar New Year?

It is a tradition to observe a vegetarian diet on New Year’s Day, so a dish of tofu skin with black wood ear and Chinese bok choy, (my fav) Chinese broccoli with garlic (just like yours!), and Chinese mushrooms stewed in vegetarian oyster sauce. Then on the third day of the festivity, that’s when mom broke her diet and ate meat. 🙂

Bok cheet gai is usually steamed or poached. It’s my fav with a large side of ginger scallion sauce.

I don’t think this was made in-house, so not sure how it was cooked… it just looks like it to me, haha
