Psst. You know how I just tried the Farmer’s Garden pickles by Vlasic? The kind people responsible for that great event have offered up a prize for giveaway here on Feisty Foodie. We’re here to help you make your summer picnic more upscale!
The pickles are just hitting stores in August, so the winner will be getting a sneak peek of sorts with this prize pack. What’s in the prize pack, you ask?
Two reusable grocery totes – perfect for carrying your groceries, or your picnic non-perishables 😉 and two jars each of Farmer’s Garden pickles – two jars of zesty garlic halves and two jars of kosher dill halves. Yum!!!
To enter to win this prize, just leave a comment below letting us know how you’d use the pickles – yes, eating pickles by themselves is great, but how would you incorporate these beauties into an upscale picnic? Get creative- there’s more in the jar than just pickles, as you can see the garlic cloves, slices of carrots, and bell peppers. Even the juice can be used for something- so put your thinking caps on and share in comments how you’d use the pickles!
My own suggestion is a mayo-less potato salad (because I’m against mayo-based salads at picnics) – diced zesty garlic pickles tossed with potatoes, a bit of the juice, and some other veggies like bell peppers, celery, and maybe a bit of onion. Yum!!!
Good luck!
Usual rules apply: giveaway will run for one week from today, winner will be chosen via Random.org, not open to Feisty Foodie family members (both blood relatives and employees), this contest is open to residents of the continental US only. Prize and prize fulfillment are both courtesy of Vlasic Farmer’s Garden.

Thinly sliced pickles incorporated into Cuban sandwiches, deviled eggs flavored with pickle juice, kale salad with other pickled veggies mixed in.
mmm
Sarah says
These pickles are perfect for frying! I have never had fried pickles and are dying to try them! The juice is destined for freezing then serving as ice cubes in bloody marys – how delish would that be? Annnnd….the other veggies = Jewish Bahn Mi toppings(made with chopped chicken liver and roast beef) 🙂

DEEP FRIED PICKLES?
Thien-Kim says
Maybe I’m just a purist at heart. i could just sit and eat an entire jar of pickles. Just by themselves. And a beer.
Jeff Newman says
Boring but I’d eat ’em right out of the jar!
Jenifer says
My 3 yr old absolutely loves pickles, and she would be so excited to get these…she loves them sliced up in sandwiches…so maybe I would make a really yummy Cubano, with melty swiss, juicy pork, and these babies! YUMMMM!!!!
CheeeeEEEEse says
I’d eat them myself as selfishly as possible.
Roll them up in a slice of cheese with spicy mustard for a low carb snack. *droooolz*
Susan says
Deep fried pickles would be awesome, and I always add pickle juice to my potato salad and coleslaw, and for the veggies on the bottom, I’d chop them up with some olives, and make a relish for some muffaletas!
Kathie says
I’d put them into a delicious chicken salad sandwich.
Pilar says
1. These would be make delicious roll-ups with turkey and/or ham and cream cheese.
2. Chop the pickles, carrots and bell peppers and serve as a side salad with ribs and baked beans. *mouth watering*
3. Use in egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad…the choices are endless.
4. Eat ’em straight from the jar and then bring the tote bag to the grocery store to bring home more jars to experiment with! 🙂
Maiken says
Eat them like Russians do: dipped into honey and sour cream, while throwing back ice-cold vodka. 😛 Caviar on some crackers (or black bread) would not hurt either.
Meg says
I L-O-V-E pickles. While usually enjoy them alone, I suppose I could incorporate them into a Chicago style hot dog. Or perhaps, I could dice one up and make tartar sauce.
T.C. says
Time to bring these to the next potluck!
Wash ’em down with an iced-cold beer. And they would be a good accompaniment to a solid meats & cheeses baguette.
Amy says
I love pickles on their own, but maybe i could put them in viet buns instead of the usual cucumbers and pickled veggies.
Feisty Foodie says
Congratulations Amy! #14 came up as the winner. Please check your email for details!

K says
Oh…. YUM!
I would love to make a relish/salad using these, daikon radishes, and carrots!
Maria says
I would make a choucroute plate, with meats, sauerkraut, potatoes and cheese. Pickles and hot mustard with a cold beer. Drooling.
Megan says
I’d give them to my boyfriend, since he loves pickles, but I’d keep the reusable bags 🙂
Jen says
I love fresh pickles, I wonder how these measure up to my grammy’s.
Dan says
Pickles are for everything! Most likely I’d eat them all by themselves, but there’s a good chance they would find themselves on my burgers and sandwiches. And let’s not forget the juice can be a great dessert after the meal of the pickles.
Sara P. says
I would make a grilled BBQ Tempeh sandwich, on fresh sourdough bread, and put the pickles inside. Yum!!
Hungry says
I’d make a cuban sandwich!
Elisabeth says
I think the pickles, if cut up would add a nice crunch to a chicken salad!
Skippymom says
I would make a chutney out of one of the jars. OH my gosh that would be good – and definitely use another jar in our bentos.
We also love a good dill pickle on a hot dog or a hamburger so there is a treat right there.
Ooooooooh, so yummy. Can’t wait until they hit the shelves. 🙂

Well, I live in MN, and we’re coming up on the state fair, so I might just put them on a stick and eat them. 😉 But I think they’d also be good with a cool quinoa salad.
