After our detour to Corona for empanadas and ices, we began the long trek up to Forest Hills. Why? Because Hungry had read how much I adored Eddie’s, the ice cream shop in my neighborhood, and really wanted to try it. These are actually pictures from three separate visits though; I introduced five different people to Eddie’s in the past month or two.
The first time, after a visit to Salt & Fat, I took AB & SpB over. AB got a cup of ice cream with fudge, whipped cream, a cherry, and…
a cappucino. She liked everything enough, and I know she mentioned she’ll be bringing her boyfriend over shortly.
SpB ordered a plain cup of… pineapple chip? Or something. I have to say, I generally have no idea what other people order because I am too busy eating what I got. I think she liked it.
I believe this was vanilla fudge swirl with fudge. YUM.
Another visit and someone got a banana split.
Another cup of ice cream with fudge for me. I think this was coffee chip, which I also like a lot.
And this latest visit, TC ordered a monster sundae. He bumped down his order because we were going for dinner afterwards.
I just love the homemade whipped cream, the cherry, the fudge…
So good.
Banana split.
I’m not sure what this one is honestly. I’ve yet to order anything besides ice cream with fudge, hehe.
Cuz it’s oh so good.
Ahhh, look at that glory shot, with the fudge dripping over the side of the cup. So damn good.
Yvo says: I think this is the last time I’ll be posting photos of Eddie’s. Nothing has changed my opinion of them, and I’ve now been more than a handful of times. I will keep going back for their excellent ice cream, reasonable prices, and totally old school feel. In fact, I might start picking up pints to keep in my freezer… yum!!! You have to go! (Though, yes, I like some of the flavors better than others, and I’m sure that would be true for anyone.)
highly recommended

Yay, home-made ice cream!
The green one is pineapple-pistachio. I had it in my sundae too. I thought it was ok. Me wanted to try something different. At least it isn’t hulk green. I wanted a royale again but did amp down to the split afetr words of dinner. Thank goodness. 😛
Oh, still curious about the Maple Walnut ice cream.

Well, guess we’ll just have to go again to get you that maple walnut!
