CONTEST: Win tickets to A Taste of Home with Alex Guarnaschelli!

March 21, 2011 by Feisty Foodie 8 Comments

Have you ever heard of the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe?  No?  Well, that’s a shame, because it’s a great charity (and I briefly mentioned it here).  All the proceeds from the nonprofit cafe go towards fighting homelessness and AIDS.

What’s that?  You say you don’t care about that stuff?  Well, start caring: on March 29th, they’re hosting this cool event, A Taste of Home: A Chef Tasting and Benefit Party Hosted by Alex Guarnaschelli.  I met Alex briefly once and she was super nice and genuine, which is something I find not all that common in her industry.  I guess it’s hard to be genuine when meeting people you know are judging your food, though.  In any case, tickets are $65 a piece, and totally worth the price of admission.  Plenty of food, drink all provided by some wonderfully talented chefs!  What more could you want?

Okay, fine: become a fan of The Housing Works on Facebook and a fan of The Feisty Foodie on Facebook (I’m trying to hit 1,000 fans by the end of March, and I’m seriously far behind!), then comment that you did so here (if you don’t, I won’t know you’ve entered).  You’ll be entered to win a pair of tickets to this event free!!!  I’ll use that handy website Random.org to draw a winner on the evening of Friday, March 25th, so be sure to check back to see if you’ve won!

But seriously, if you don’t win, you really should consider purchasing your own tickets.  The cost is minimal, and every dollar goes to charity.  It’s really awesome what they do.

Good luck!
