licking her lips in anticipation
Those of you who are fans of The Feisty Foodie on Facebook probably saw this post the other day – for every person that simply “likes” Hickory Farms on Facebook, they will donate $1 to Share Our Strength, a really great charity that strives to complete the vision that no child should ever go hungry. If you have a Facebook account, please spare a second to just click on a button so this charity can get up to $10,000!
“Mommy, why can’t I eat it? Please?”
Beyond that, though, Hickory Farms has also pledged to donate $5 from the sale of each Signature Party Planner ($40, pictured above), up to $500,000! How amazing is that? This box is a great hosting gift – either for you to host a party, even just keep in the pantry in case you have unexpected company drop by, all you’d have to do is open a bottle of wine and set out this box on a nice wooden cutting board with some cheese knives, and instant party! (Seriously. I don’t even use my wooden cutting boards except to showcase food.) Or to bring to someone’s house when they host a party. No matter what, it’s sure to be a hit – I sort of think I should bring it to my friend’s party this weekend (I have two!), but I want to eat it myself… mmm smoked cheddar!!!
(Psst, don’t tell my family, but I already purchased a bunch of Hickory Farm items a little while ago as stocking stuffers…)
Even better than all this, though, directly affecting you: Hickory Farms has offered up one of these boxes to one lucky reader of Feisty Foodie!!! All you have to do is leave a comment below with how you’d use this box – eat it all yourself, share with friends, maybe you have a party you’re throwing soon, or a party you’re attending… and, if you have any ideas on how to use the leftovers from a box like this – say, you have a party, and open everything and cut into things but then the next morning you find out you’ve got half a block of each cheese and a bit of each meat stick left – well, what do you do? Oh, and you live alone, so there’s no reason you should sit there eating the whole thing while watching romantic comedies. Um, not that we’re talking about me or anything 😉
(One idea I’ve had in the past for excess cut-cheese leftover from parties is to make mac&cheese.)
In any case, contest ends Monday evening, around 10pm EST (when I return from class). I’ll be picking a winner randomly, so your chances are pretty good 🙂
Please be sure to use a real email address when commenting – I’ll never spam you, though in this case, I will be sharing it with Hickory Farms for prize fulfillment.
Good luck!!!
Dog not included

I’m hosting my family Christmas on the 26th and will have a house full of hungry adults and kids, so that box of deliciousness would come in handy for when they just arrive! The chances of leftovers would be slim, but if there were, I’d chop them all up and add to a quiche the next day. That dog of yours is friggin’ adorable!!
CheeeeEEEEse says
It is my namesake. I am allergic to it. It messes with my stomach. I would eat the whole thing by myself because my roommates are infantile and I don’t trust them with anything food related.
I’m still giggling about the “Dog not included” snippet at the end.
Meats and cheeses!
CT says
Yumm! I would use it for the party I plan on throwing over MLK weekend to celebrate the first year I’ll have MLK-day off in 5 years!! And leftovers… well I’d make a delicious stuffed-omlette-on-a-flat-bagel-hangover-sandwich! (since that’s my specialty)
Yael says
Yummmmmmmmmmmmm!! I would share with friends at a holiday party next Friday. It would be quite the hit. Thanks for the contest!!
hnahk says
i would share it with my coworkers!
T.C. says
I like the dog not included disclaimer. Keywee!
MEATS AND CHEESES would be awesome for anyone.
I likely will not eat it all myself. Eat a few pieces of the most favorable/interested items, then give the rest away to friends. Sharing is caring.
Jeff says
I’d share it w/ my Foodgasm Meetup!
Maria says
I am not so generous to share. I would make sure that no one knew where I was; like turn out the lights, don’t answer the phone kind of alone and eat all that deliciousness by myself.
Carol says
love keywee! cutest doggie ever!!
A party in a box is a great thing to have during the holidays. Meats and cheeses and crackers, all you need is a couple of bottles of wine.
I would share with friends and the leftovers would be added to breakfast eggs and english muffins while i bake up some monkey bread and baked french toast for sleep-over friends and family to enjoy!
Apikoros says
Max’s first Birthday is 12/24 and we are having family over for brunch. I would certainly serve it then! As always, thanks FF for awesome contests and great content
Feisty Foodie says
10 was the lucky number to be drawn, and you are the 10th eligible comment on this post! Congratulations! I will be emailing you and Hickory Farms to get your prize out.
PS I better be invited on 12/24. I won’t be able to come, but I better be invited 😉
Abbie says
Give it to my dad- he goes nuts for these things…well, I would probably “share it” with him at least!
James says
I would keep most of it in the office, that’s lunch for days! And snacks for a while too. Mmmm. Plus there are local bakeries for sammich rolls.
BeerBoor says
I would take each item out of the box and caress it slowly, carefully, gently giving it the love and attention it deserves, before placing it in my all-Hickory Farms creche.
What? It isn’t like I’m eligible anyway.
BlindBakerNYC says
I’m slightly disturbed by this.
aimee says
You know I’d eat it all myself..in my Bentos!
Lisa says
I’ll share the loot with my family 🙂
Yin says
I would share…but eat most of by myself 😉
John De Large says
I would eat it with my Mom!
Diana says
I would give it to my dad, he just loves this stuff!
david says
As much as I would like to eat it all myself, I suspect I would be forcibly required to share with my wife…
Susan says
I’m going to a St. Lucia party later this week, and that would be the perfect for the party. And any cheese and sausage leftover would be great in some mac and cheese.
Sara says
I’d share it with the fam on Chrismukah (our annual, non-secular family gathering).
Oh and does the adorable pup come as part of the gift? 🙂
Goats says
I’d horde it for myself in my work desk!
Nicole says
I would use it for my new year’s party that we are hosting and the leftovers (as if) would go for trash can eggs the next morning….basically scramble up a bunch of eggs (depending on how many people passed out on the floor the night before) throw in whatever is in the fridge (or in this case the box) and either scramble or bake. Add to it some mimosas, bloody mary’s salty bacon best hang over cure ever!
KatieZ says
Mmm! The boyfriend & family with a movie or two on a rainy day? Excellent!
Lindsay says
Thanks for reviewing our Party Planner Gift Box, we’re glad you enjoyed it!
Schmidty says
It’d be allll miiinnne!
pamela says
As much as I would love to eat all that wonderful stuff, I would send it to a family that I know is need of some help for the holidays.
Lindsey B says
I would eat it with my boyfriend and a few other friends in our apartment watching Love Actually and the Grinch all cuddled up in blankets! Sounds delicious.
Nicholas says
The question is too easy… obviously I would hoard it and eat it by myself whilst sitting in my closet… and what are leftovers?
AmandaLP says
I would probably eat the cheese and sausage, or give it to my partner. The spreads might languish in my fridge or be given as gifts 🙂
Lkpnyc says
If I won I would absolutely have to eat this (okay, I’d share a little). I’ve never actually tried anything from Hickory Farms, though my family has been getting their catalogs for as long as I can remember!
Hungry says
Hosting a get together on New Year’s Eve. This would help greatly since I haven’t planned the menu yet!
Cody says
Oh god my girlfriend and I would just devour that box of goodies!
Brina says
First I would finely julienne all the meats and cheeses. Then I would strip naked and slather my body with the mustards. Then I would stick the slices of meat and cheese to my mustardy body in the form of an arrow pointing toward my prize. I would keep cherished photos of this in the empty Hickory Farms box to be taken out and enjoyed every holiday season from now on. Also, any bits of leftovers on the floor I would leave for my cats cuz they love salami.
Derek says
I would eat this with my gf on xmas in front of our tree.
susan says
I’d share with my family and relatives for the Christmas party that is always planned at the last minute.
Sherri says
I would offer to share it but it’s a good thing that most people I know do not like HF. Hence I can enjoy it all by myself while watching bad reality tv 🙂
Zehra says
I like extending the life of nice things…so I would use it to serve as snacks pre dinner (not all of it) at a dinner party I’m having on the 21st and then….I would totally take it out when my sisters come to visit on late night chat sessions…we are all three finally living in the same neighbourhood for the first time and it ROCKS and they love coming over to mine to debrief since I tend to have good food around!
