Grand Central Terminal Market – St. Patrick’s Day Goodies

March 15, 2010 by Feisty Foodie 6 Comments

I’ve mentioned plenty of times how much I like shopping around Grand Central Terminal, and of course they have some St. Patty’s Day offerings.  Yum!  Their PR representative sent over some stuff for me to try…

This Shamrock Brownie – you know I don’t like chocolate, but I had to take a big bite out of this (and stop myself from eating the whole thing).  Super fudgy, dense, chocolaty… wow.  If you like chocolate, you really need to pick up one of these adorable brownies – it’ll send you into choco-coma.

Leprechaun cupcake – I gave this to the BF, but judging by how quickly he demolished this, I think it’s a safe bet this was as good as it was cute.

Zaro’s has a pound of Irish-themed-butter cookies for $11.95 – perfect go with your green beers, or to bring to a party… or just to put out to munch on.  Lovely.

Murray’s also is offering a slew of Irish cheeses – this is a wedge of Cashel Blue, yummy with some soda crackers, or broken into a salad… or made into a dressing for some wings (to dip while you watch March Madness, of course!).  (Also, at $16.99/lb, totally cheaper than Fresh Direct by a whole $2 a pound.  Dude.)

Of course, you can’t have St. Patty’s Day without Irish soda bread, right?  BF’s mom (who is half-Irish) actually loves Irish soda bread and insists on getting a bit every year around this time.  They offer two types – one is dense and the other is more scone-like in texture, but both are yummy.  (And weigh about 12 lbs, the bag with these was totally weighing me down!)

All delicious goodies that can be found at the Grand Central Terminal Market!!!  Head over there for all of your St. Patty’s Day needs (and while you’re there, swing by Dishes for some Valrhona chocolate pudding… and Penzey’s for some spices… and omg… Murray’s Real Salami for some guanciale and pancetta to make real carbonara and… oh dear, I need to get my butt over there and soon.  Mmm.

Though I received all of the above items free of charge, I was under no obligation to post anything, positive or negative.  Thanks again for the goodies!

Damn the goodies! I’d eat the whole brownie and not feel bad or comatose about it.

I walk by the GC Terminal Market at least once a week. I might have to indulge…will see when I have actual dough in my pocket.
