For a recent girls’ night, we hit up Bravest because I was informed there would be firemen. Unfortunately, there were no firemen. There were, however, fried foods.
Starting with fried zucchini, which was cut into cute little bite-size strips with a lovely ranch for dipping. I liked these a lot. Cooked still tender but not too crisp… yum.
A basket of fries, of course, for SpB. Again, fried to the right degree. Good stuff.
And last but not least – fried pickles! A few of my friends looked at me oddly, but hell, whatever. And these were way better than those at SoHo Park! Aside from that, because I began munching on them so enthusiastically, my friends decided to try them and realized I’m not that odd (for liking fried pickles, anyway)! Total win. These, being chip-style and not spear-style, were super crunchy and crisp and the blue cheese that came with it for dipping totally won the night.
Yvo says: Since we had dinner plans directly after, we were just looking to snack and didn’t try the burgers (which I’ve read are pretty good). But Bravest, despite its dearth of firemen that night (boo…), clearly knows how to fry their foods properly! Yummy bar food. I’d definitely go back for snacks and drinks… despite the excess of suits in there, ugh.

I don’t recall eating fried pickles before. Not against trying them though. Especially since they’re fried!

Weird? They’re incredibly common in the south. Sadly, spear v. chip is no indicator of crispness. Onyl trial and error.
