I have awesome friends, and I love eating with them, what can I say?

Ailin ordered the chicken vindaloo.  I know she liked it because she told me so, but she also said it was super spicy, so I didn’t try it.  I know my limits, and spicy Asian foods definitely push them, hard.  Ailin has mentioned to me going here quite a number of times so far, so my guess is she gives this place a great thumbs up 😉

I opted to try lamb korma – both to try their korma and to try their lamb.  The lamb was super tender and flavorful, without overpowering the korma.  There was good amount in there, and it had everything going for it.  The korma itself was slightly sweet, slightly smoky, and a great replacement for my previous favorite Indian place – which was remarkably cheap, but also has gone drastically downhill in recent years.  It doesn’t hurt that Sajni is also much, much closer.

Of course we also had rice, which was fluffy and great, perfect for the curries we’d each ordered.

Last but not least, an order of garlic naan, which was awesome.  I totally loved it.  Airy, puffy and spiked with garlic, it was super fragrant and really delicious.

Yvo says: While the lunch buffet is already super cheap, night time prices aren’t bad, either.  I believe our dishes were $7.99 and 8.99 respectively, and a few bucks for the extra order of naan (each dish comes with choice of naan or rice, but we added on garlic naan so opted for rice).  The total with a generous tip came to about $25.  Ridiculous – that’s dinner, people!  All the above food!  This just confirms what I already thought: this is an awesome neighborhood place.  I am definitely adding this to my rotation… (now if I could only convince BF to give Indian food another go…)
recommended neighborhood spot
