Lunch #3 of my last 7. Yet another FAIL!!! I went to check out the new Bon Chon on John after reading this review from Midtown Lunch. I knew a few things to expect.. and I’ve HAD Bon Chon before (never an official review because it was always at parties, and someone brought it)… but I’ve heard each location is slightly different.
Despite expecting service problems, I didn’t expect them to be THIS bad. It took a full 20 minutes to take my order even though I was 3rd in line when I arrived. I mean – they just kept picking up the phone and taking PHONE orders ahead of us!!! So… order over the phone if you can. And then, to make matters worse, the guy took my order, gave me my ticket and circled my order number. A LONG time later, the woman was shouting numbers and finally came over to where I was sitting to ask me my order number. I told her 93 – what the guy circled – and she said no, that’s not the right number, it’s on the bottom. She’d been calling my number. I told her “But he circled this one,” and she said “He’s new here, he doesn’t know,” and handed me my food. While the food she handed me was right, that was a total lie because the guy who took my order was the owner. FAIL. A little bit more organization… I suppose I can forgive this because it’s still opening week but I was pretty annoyed anyway 🙁
So I inhaled my food and rushed back to the office, smelling like pickled radishes.
I hope Lunch #4 tomorrow comes off better… wish me luck!!!
