Super Bowl Snackin’ from Fairway Markets

Game Day is coming up!  If you’re like me, the Super Bowl is usually just another day… of PIGGING OUT!!!  Of course, with the holidays so recent in my memory… and y’know… all of this cooking and cooking and cooking and eating and eating… I kind of want things to be a little bit healthier.  But easy.  What’s a girl to do?

I recently had the good fortune to be sent, courtesy of Fairway, a selection of healthy snacks – enough to host my own small Super Bowl party actually – although this year will be at HB’s.  Not one of these items has ingredients that are unpronounceable, and in fact are all quite yummy.

Terra Kettles chips in both Smoked Mozzarella with Pesto and General Tso’s flavors… yum~!!! $1.99 each
Good Health crispy original apple chips $2.39
Dave & Thomas Kettle Corn in smoked cheddar $3.19
Hain PureSnax carrot chips $3.79
Kashi TLC crackers in 7 grain fire roasted vegetable $2.99
Planters Heart Healthy Mix (assorted lightly salted nuts)
Balsamic Black Bean dip $4.69
Pistachio & Roasted Pepper dip $4.69

The two dips also make great, slightly spicy spreads for sandwiches or mock-quesadillas – I can totally see myself making finger sandwiches with them along with some prosciutto or roast pork tenderloin… or maybe with some crunchy veggies between pita wedges, yummm…

All items are available at Fairway Markets at the above prices!

Or, if you prefer hot food … they have an excellent catering selection as well.  I’ve been poring through their catering menu and drooling over the selection… which is extremely thorough.  But even better — the Red Hook location has a special Super Bowl catering menu available!!!  If I was hosting my own party this year, I’d totally be ordering from here – packages with 3 or 6 ft heroes, potato salad/cole slaw/macaroni salad… I’m drooling just looking at this menu 🙂  Ordering does require advance notice of at least 48 hours though so get moving if that’s the route you’re going!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful SuperBowl Sunday, regardless of if your team wins or not!!!

Happy snacking!!!

What a coincidence – I was thinking about Super Bowl and you – and well…you'll see ;D….

Those healthy snacks look good – exactly the kind of stuff my kids love to eat.

I hope you get a chance to relax and enjoy the snacking & commercials on Sunday [neither of our teams are in there, eh? :(]

I’m fascinated by those Terra flavours. I usually just get the original one with the mixed colors, but will definitely have to keep an eye out for those.

Wow that’s a great haul! .. and healthy too! I love Terra Kettles! Btw.. my BF got a new Canon 40D which is why the pictures on my blog have improved dramatically! He gets his hobby and he gets to document my hobby. Can’t wait til Sunday!

danny – actually, they’re pretty tasty. They’re not dehydrated carrot slices (like apple chips seem to be), but ground up carrots made into chips. The texture is similar to Wheat Thins (or is it Triscuits? – the good ones, that are slightly crumbly and lightly salty), but the bag smells like carrots (sweet), and there’s a slight carrot taste to them. I actually really like them, they’re kind of addicting, you sit watching TV and just keep dipping your hand in the bag 🙂
