Isn’t that cool? This is what HB and I saw, walking back to our hotel from dinner… then to the dessert place. Yes, after that hefty dinner, we had dessert. Anyway, that’s what Morton’s in Boston looks like – a castle!
We had dessert at Finale.
Though we were both super stuffed, HB decided that we had to get dessert since this place was literally a half a block from our hotel, and we were here. We’d already decided to forego Toscanini’s ice cream because it was pretty far from our hotel, we were tired, and it was late. So HB said, “We’re in Boston to eat… so let’s eat!”
I’d honestly thought, by the description, we’d be receiving miniature versions of the regular menu desserts, but when the waitress – who gruffly told us that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes and we had to be fast (hmph! we left while there were still a lot of other tables, who had arrived before us, were still eating!) – explained our dish to us, it was all elements taken from each of the other desserts. Meaning, these were little garnishes from the other desserts… interesting.
It was next to impossible to scribble down everything the woman told us at the time, plus the dessert sampler changes all the time. I do know I liked the mini whoopie pies – chewy little cookies filled with cream in between – and HB liked much of al the citrusy desserts.
Yvo says: Honestly, neither of us were hungry, but we did finish the platter between us. If you’re looking for a sweet bite with a large variety, you can’t go wrong with this platter for 2. The perfect end to a great date with just enough for everyone – chocolate lovers, citrus fans, anything. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for all these things.
