I’ve been remiss this week with my food blogging duties… and I am here to tell you why. I’ve been excited this whole time, but didn’t want to jinx it, so… here goes:
Thursday, July 24th
Stop by Union Bar (Park Avenue South between 17th and 18th Streets) between 11am and 4pm on Thursday to show your love for the Feisty Foodie! Or, just to snag some free smoothies, bottles of iced tea, and other assorted goodies! I will be there as the Face of Lipton to talk about the teas themselves, what foods to pair them with, how to mix cocktails with them, but most importantly, to discuss how to COOK with them! Didn’t think you could cook with a bottle of iced tea? I didn’t either, until I tried, and damn, the results are DELICIOUS!!! Come on down and spread the word… 🙂
Also, the teas are fairly healthy for you. Lower sugar, lower calories, and tons of antioxidants, and tastes great- all the good stuff you’d want in a bottle of iced tea…
So please come down just to chat, hang out with me, talk food, talk tea, whatever it is that tickles your fancy, and spread the word!!!
I will also be sharing the recipes for the above two dishes – possibly more! – so look for it! Red tea pork chops (first picture) with a blueberry pomegranate reduction, and green tea chicken with basil and garlic. Yummy… both so delicious, it’s hard to pick a favorite.
I hope to see you there!!!

I can’t wait for the recipes! Interesting, when I initially saw the first photo the sauce looked very savory, then you tell me it’s a fruit reduction! cool.. well I’ll drop by on Thursday.
re: your comment about my diet. It’s funny, for me it really depends on the weather. In the winter I love braising and making soups and congee. I’ve started to branch out a bit due to the CSA and how hot it has been. Though I won’t dissappoint you – there are some Asian dishes soon to come.
Oh, the white bean dip I’ve made twice. Loved it better the first time but please do eat them with the pita chips – yum!

It’d be great to meet you in person, Yvo, but I think the cab fare would be excessive from San Francisco! 😉 Have fun with your tea event; I hope it goes well for you and you enjoy your duties.

That’s awesome! I’ll try my best to stop by 🙂
I’m curious to see what else you’ve made. Tea eggs is the only thing I’ve cooked with tea before.

Wowee! I so wish I could stop by but I’m working, not very close by… I hope to see some recipes posted, though! Tea reduction? Tea-flavored desserts? The possibilities continue…
