London Lennie’s is amazingly good seafood right in Queens (it’s only maybe a mile or two south of Queens Center Mall, straight on Woodhaven Blvd., or if you’re near the Sears/Circuit City shopping center on 63rd Drive, head south on 63rd and you’re right there!). Consistently good quality, I have never had a dish here I didn’t like.
The steamer appetizer is a nicely sized portion for sharing; crab cake trio is always an interesting try with different dipping sauces; but the absolute best value, in my opinion, is their Tuesday Night Shore Dinner. On Tuesday nights (hence the name), $21.95 gets you a 1lb. lobster with steamers, mussels, potatoes, corn on the cob, cole slaw, coffee or tea, plus cheesecake for dessert- and a choice of either a glass of house wine, Yuengling draught beer, or iced tea. How incredibly cheap! I’ve indulged in this myself before, and it is well worth the price.
Of course, they also participate in both Lobster Fest (August to September-ish), where they have a similar special with a larger lobster, but not as much extras, and Crab Fest (October-ish), where they showcase many different kinds of crabs in different dishes. Again, their food is consistently high quality, and I definitely recommend this place.
