Easing back into blogging… *waves* hi y’all! Thanks for being patient. For those who want to know, doggie is doing much much much better though not 100% and she greatly appreciated all of your patience while I took care of her instead of writing here. (Though she’d prefer I continue to not write, as she’s sitting and staring sadly at me right now…)
I know I already waxed poetic about my love of Potatopia, but it actually bears repeating – and trying new items. The day that post went up, I got such a fierce craving to return that I went back that night and ordered one of their “signature meals” – the Lower East Sider, which, though I don’t remember the exact price points, I know if I ordered it all as a build-your-own would cost far more than they wanted as a pre-fab. Tater tots topped with ‘house salt’, sour cream, scallions, cilantro and… lox. If memory serves, I also added a bunch of veggies because this was going to be my dinner for the night – and I see broccoli.
And the inside shot: super crisp tots! LOVE! Sour cream! LOVE! Cheese sauce on the side! LOVE! What I didn’t love was the lox. Not that it was bad – though a friend remarked that salmon from a place such as this might be a little alarming – but rather it was straight slices laid on top of the dish. The plastic knives were no help, and while I appreciate them giving me whole slices instead of chopped up crappy pieces, it would have been nice if they cut them slightly smaller to make eating this easier.
Aside from that, the whole dish was awesome and I really do want to go back again to try more items. Probably as soon as the work day is over… because that was another great potato dish.

I hope Keewee is going to be okay. I didn’t know 🙁 How did I miss that. Sending her much love and hoping she gets lots of treats. I know she is getting a ton of hugs and kisses. Sweet girl.
You know – this dish does nothing for me. I like all the ingredients – just not together. It just seems…weird? But I have really liked the previous things you have eaten at Potatopia [and you can’t help but love the name.] Don’t know. And right now I am starving. For a bagel with lox, cream cheese and a side of tater tots. LOVE ME some tots. hee

Thanks, love! You didn’t know because I didn’t broadcast it until the hardest, scariest parts were over. That’s kind of my MO – I don’t talk about anything that’s really important to me until I have a handle on it (which is why a lot of my friends didn’t know my dad was very sick until he died).

Welcome back! I hope that your furry child makes a full recouperation, that is so heart breaking and stressful when they are unwell.
What a combo for a potato dish! Why does the cilantro seem weird on there? I love cilantro but never seen it before with lox, tater tots, and cheese sauce in the same meal….

The cilantro does seem weird… I’m trying to remember if I added it, or if that was their choice (I love cilantro). Not entirely sure. It was very tasty though 🙂
