I was recently introduced to Samplrs, which is a bit like Foodzie with one major difference: while Foodzie focuses on small artisan vendors from all over the country – some in places that I’ll likely never visit – Samplrs focuses on small artisan vendors from my very favorite place on earth: New York City. Obviously, both ways have their pros and cons, but I love-love-LOVE this. I have made plenty of friends over the years who simply have no intention or ability to ever visit New York themselves, but they read about what I’m eating here and they just want it so badly… now I can ship them part of that joy, subscription style!

Of course, there’s also the reverse of that – people who’ve just moved to NYC who may want to explore and discover new vendors quickly, without having to go to all the cute little markets and keep buying stuff to try that may not work for them. Each month, you get a new box – complete with tote bag so you can go to the markets and buy more! – stuffed with goodies from local purveyors. It will help you realize quickly how awesome your new home is. 😉 (I do admit, I’m not sure the exact definition of local, as I seem to have received some items from Jersey, but I guess some people consider that local… hahaha!)

Usual disclaimer: I received this product for free, but I was under no obligation to post positive or negative opinions, or at all. Thanks again to Samplrs for sending me this!

Man, any of those Sour Puss pickled vegetables I would go nuts for.

They do also ship items instead of a whole box of random goodies if you like! The pickled veggies do sound delicious though.

I see something that says “Pie” – could you please expand on what it is, if it was good and where I can find it. (Have I mentioned my love of PIES?) thanks!

That’s a bourbon pecan pie from Cutie Pies – http://www.cutiepiesnyc.com – I shared this with DLS. I don’t believe I’m huge on pecan pie (having had it only a few different times now, maybe I haven’t had a truly excellent one yet?) and so this one was not exactly to my liking, but perhaps you’d like it?

Ooh, this is like those club of the month things but better than the national ones. I’m still debating Kettle Chips monthly club.
