Project 365: Day 104

There is something to be said for having an amazing boyfriend who is incredibly supportive, and while we do butt heads on occasion, he is, in a word, amazing.  I don’t know that I’d have been able to return to school and do all that I do without him and his emotional support; he encourages me to pursue my dreams and tries to let me know in subtle ways that I never need to worry about the small details.  It’ll come.  Other people would insist I have delusions of grandeur; instead, he just allows me to dream, and dream big.  I love him to the very core of my being.  Without him, I wouldn’t be the person I am today; he’s taught me to be a more generous human being, he’s helped me find out who I really am, and in some ways, he has shaped that.  (The reverse is true as well, of course; I’ve helped shape who he is today as well.)

What’s my point, as you stare at a plate of pasta?  Well, my baby is many things, but someone who cooks, he is not… until recently.  With no pressure from me, he’s begun making food for himself more and more at home, and eventually got tired of cereal and frozen pizza, I s’pose.  He’s taken it upon himself to learn how to make his father’s red sauce (gravy, as he calls it)… and during a phone call where I complained about not cooking much for myself lately, being stressed, tired, and grumpy from too much schoolwork and blogwork, trying to keep up and all… he said “Come over for lunch tomorrow.  I will cook for you.”  Bear in mind, he’s cooked in the past, which has not fared too well (he has fried cutlets for both of us before, because I hate frying stuff like that… well the whole kitchen was spattered with oil and I was very grumpy indeed, as the rule is, s/he who cooks, the other cleans!).  I was immensely thrilled to arrive to find pasta water on the stove, sauce going, and ricotta, parmesan… everything at the ready for a lovely pasta lunch, and homemade meatballs!  You might find this a minor item, or decide I have no expectations, but honestly, this meant the world to me… supreme effort from the BF for an excellent lunch, so I had one less thing to stress over.

I love you baby… always & forever.  <3  It’s you and me against the world, remember?  Always.

Cool. Very nice and thoughtful of your BF!
*jot down note – learn to cook for the lady* 😛

And I wonder how selfish you’d be without the BF then? lol.
