Feisty Freebie Giveaway!

October 12, 2009 by Feisty Foodie

My life is truly blessed.  I have wonderful friends, an incredible boyfriend, a fantastic family, and I am surrounded by amazing people in nearly every aspect of my life.

IMG_0067.JPG
Scharffen Berger unsweetened cocoa powder, tasting squares of varying percentages of cacao, and baking chunks

On a more material level, I am constantly surrounded by awesome food and more.  I simply can’t eat or use it all.  Being that it’s my birthday month – both for The Feisty Foodie and myself on the 27th – I’ve decided to go beyond just spreading the love and sharing the wealth with my friends & family (who, believe me, enjoy many of the freebies that come my way, as much as I do!), but to spread the love and share the wealth with you, my dear readers, without whom there wouldn’t be as much reason to continue writing as I do.  (I document what I eat for myself, but if no one was giving me feedback, I probably wouldn’t be so diligent about writing everything down the way I do.)

IMG_0057.JPG
Favor-sized packages of Pure Dark rounds – dusted with chipotle cinnamon, acai raspberry, or cardamom

Because there’s just simply so much stuff that I’d like to give away, I can’t say for sure what you will win…

IMG_0061.JPG
Various books, mostly about food/wine, some not, and two random DVDs

But there’s a ton of chocolate available, other food yummies, a lot of makeup/general self-care products (don’t ask! but I will try very hard to make sure no boys receive those), some food-related books, trinkets, fun stuff (and all of it unused/unopened, except the books, which I promise that a few have been read/browsed extremely gently).  There’s so much stuff that nearly everyone who enters is guaranteed a prize.

IMG_0063.JPG
Pure Dark tasting tray with chocolate covered cherries, rounds of chocolate dusted with chipotle cinnamon, acai raspberry, or cardamom, a slab of 65% chocolate with caramelized nibs & coarse sugar, and a bit of ‘classic’ bark which is dark chocolate studded with almonds and chocolate covered cherries – along with a metal rake to help you break off bits of the slab

Here’s how to enter:

IMG_0066.JPG
Various slabs/bars of Scharffen Berger with different levels of chocolate, different types of beans, etc.

1- Comment on this post.  Yup, that’s it.  You can tell me what you want to win (yes, you can say “a pony” even though I assure you there is no pony in my apartment waiting to be shipped anywhere…), or what your favorite post on here has been, or where you found my site, or… anything.  Just comment, and you’re entered.

IMG_0068.JPG
Chipnetzels, dipped in white chocolate (up as a prize) and dipped in dark chocolate (going in my belly)

2- Tweet a link to this post – something like “Just entered @feistyfoodie ‘s awesome chocolate-centric giveaway contest, you should enter too!” with the link at the end.  Spread the love and share the contest with other people so they can enter and everyone wins!

IMG_0071.JPG
2oz shots of iChill, an anti-energy drink that’s supposed to help you relax after a day of being wired up (I haven’t tried it yet)

3- Blog about this contest and link back to this post.  I have pingbacks turned on, but if it doesn’t show up or if you just want to make sure, feel free to come back here and comment that you’ve done so, with a link to your blog post.

IMG_0070.JPG
Pure Dark hostess gift – slab of 57% dark chocolate with caramelized nibs and coarse sugar, and a bit of classic bark

4- Do two of the above, and it counts as TWO entries!  Do all three, and it counts as THREE entries!!!  (Multiple Tweets and/or multiple comments don’t count as more entries, sorry!  But I wouldn’t mind the multiple Tweets!)  Which could mean you win two – maybe three! – prizes or it could mean you win a doubly or even triply awesome prize 😉

IMG_0072.JPG
Assorted random bits – smartfood, almonds, almond butter, Ghirardelli chocolate squares, lotion, lip gloss, blush, etc.

Contest will be open through the end of October, my birth month.  Sorry, but open to US residents only as I can’t afford to send this many prizes to all over the world!  This will be a random drawing – if less people enter than I have prizes, I’m just going to set up a shipping boxes and start throwing stuff into each box from the couch, whatever lands in the box with your name on it is yours!

IMG_0074.JPG
Keywee thought I was crazy as I kept taking pictures of this stuff.  I assure you, she is not one of the prizes available!

Good luck everyone!!!

***Full disclosure: I received everything above free (except that one yellow book titled “Meatless Meals for Working People” which is a really awful and useless book, but ummm, maybe you’ll like it?) – some because of the blog, some not.  Having these items and giving them away says nothing positive nor negative about my opinion of the products.  Also – each picture does not represent a prize pack – those are yet to be determined!  There’s a lot more stuff available to win, but didn’t photograph well or I’d rather leave a surprise.  🙂

Where did you manage to get a box of Ichill?? LOL. 🙂

Anything with the words “dark chocolate” on it would be a welcome gift.

I can vouch for the almond butter – it tastes pretty good. I started reading twitterville and then forgot about it. Oops.

I would LOVE anything— especially, the tasty chocolate— Any would be lovely. Just promise me if I win a book, you’ll sign it. In terms of faves, I love all your ‘hood posts about us in Forest Hills… My request— Feisty Foodie reviews on the following Forest Hills Eateries: 5 Burros, East Ocean Palace, that new brunch place on Austin Street whose name I forgot, Thai Pot, Knish Knosh and Samarkand… To name a few!!!! Ohhh– and try Frankie and Joey’s pizza by the Movie Theater! (and I tweeted!)

I’ve enjoyed the reviews, bentos and recipes.

    Hi Yvo!
What a great giveaway! I love everything chocolate so the SB goodies are calling my name. Having said that, my favorite part of your site are all the restaurant reviews.

  14. Nicole says

    October 12, 2009 at 3:09 pm

    Yay! Free stuff! 😀
I was going to say I would like the Meatless Meals for Working People book if I got to choose any prize…but after your glowing endorsement of it, maybe I’d be better off leaving it to chance. 🙂

And just so this is not a “Give me stuff!” comment, I’d like to add that I found your site through your bento blog, which I found when I was looking at the links on Lunch in a Box (and the name of your blog was what made me click the link that fateful day). I really like your down-to-earth perspective on food (unlike some blogs where people get so caught up in being a “foodie” that they forget the importance of the most basic elements, like taste!)
And hopefully my husband and I will get to take a trip to New York together in the future and I’m sure your restaurant posts here will give us some good advice. 🙂

    What a great giveaway!

Of course I, or anyone, would love the chocolate. Or the cookbooks. I recently moved in with my long-time boyfriend and even though I LOVE to cook, it’s hard to decide what to cook when he’s a big meat eater/little veggie eater and I’m a little meat eater/big veggie eater, so I’ve been looking ANYWHERE for inspiration lately.

I started reading about a year ago thanks to StumbleUpon and am so glad I found you.

And possibly your adorable, adorable dog, but I’m not that mean. 😉
