True Delights (Quaker)

I recently had the opportunity to try this new offering from Quaker, via Foodbuzz.

Allergic to coconut, I was unable to try the bottom ones, “toasted coconut banana macadami nut” although that sounds pretty darn good.  I gave them away and haven’t heard yet how the person liked them.

The other two were surprisingly delicious.  Soft, slightly chewy, and filled with their respective ingredients –

(um, just a note, I just Google’d “true delights” to jog my memory of the ingredients, please do not click on the first link that pops up – it is adult content only, eeps)

honey roasted cashew mixed berry, which was the first one I sampled, and really enjoyed it very much.  The honey offset the dried fruits nicely, and gave it an overall zing.

The other flavor, dark chocolate raspberry almond, was quite good, though my complaint was how unevenly scattered the chocolate bits were.  They are pretty small bits, smaller than a chocolate chip – maybe the size of a MINI chocolate chip – and I was eating one bar that had no chocolate at one end, then a little bit, then a ton at the other end.  If they could make it a uniform “scattering” I would be really happy to have just a teensy bit of chocolate in each bite.

Overall, I really enjoyed these bars and will be on the lookout for them in the stores.

For your very own free sample, click to True Delights and enter your information!

***Please note that there is coconut oil in all three bars.  Thankfully I did not have a reaction to that in the two bars I tried, and coconuts are a less common allergy, but I thought I’d put it out there anyway.

*I was under no obligation to post about this nor did I receive any monetary consideration for this post.  I don’t think Quaker even knows I’m posting about this, nor that I’m linking to their free sample website.  Not that I care if they know or not, just putting it out there.

I’m afraid I’m un-bookmarking your site. I’m sad to see you moving towards shilling for companies that give you free stuff or invite you to their events. It’s incredibly uninteresting to read advertisements — even in blog form.
You might want to think about whether this is the direction you truly want to go in.
I do wish you all the best, but I’m movin’ on.

Anonymous – I’m sorry you feel that way. Considering I have always made it a point to post about whatever I eat, this does not fall outside that category. Best to you and yours, hope you’ll change your mind!

PS As today is president’s day and I have the day off but some people don’t, I slipped in a placeholder post (this one). Guess it didn’t work for you
