Tuesdays with TT: Flushing Food Tour

Recently, CT was going up to Boston to visit her college friends and see Notre Dame take on BC. GO EAGLES! Without my Eater-In-Crime around, I needed to figure out something to do. I came up with a great idea to go on a Flushing Food Tour with the fellow FBMers led by our very own, Yvo. I had only been to Flushing once before for hot pot, so I was really excited to get some cheap, but tasty eats. Yes, I was a sheltered white guy from NJ that never went for “ethnic” eats in Queens with his family. [...]

Thursdays with TT: Vanessa’s Dumplings

Ladies and gentleman, once again, I am pleased to announce another week of post’s by everyone’s favorite sidekick, CT. After TT and I hit the Sauza Tequila tasting event, we decided we were still hungry but couldn’t figure out what to get. Since we were in the Union Square area and there were lots of options, we decided to walk around until something sparked our interest. We walked right by Vanessa’s Dumplings, which I’ve heard good things about in the past, so we decided that it would be perfect for a quick meal to end of the night. We decided [...]

Ladies and gentleman, once again, I am pleased to announce another week of post’s by everyone’s favorite sidekick, CT. Recently, Yvo was invited to a Sauza tequila tasting event. Unfortunately for Yvo, and fortunately for me, she had class that evening, so she passed along the invitation. After meeting up with TT, we were ushered into the second floor of an apartment building near Union Square and greeted with cocktails! The apartment was beautiful, but I was already concentrating on the cocktails in front of me. There were two options to start – a traditional margarita, straight no salt – [...]

NYC Wine & Food Festival: Meatball Madness

The other day, my friend Hungry from Tasty Eating, invited me to go Meatball Madness. It is one of the most popular events of the New York City Wine & Food Festival. It was an opportunity too good to pass up eventhough CT & I went to The Meatball Shop the night before for dinner(look for the review in a couple weeks). Check out Hungry’s great writeup here. She is much faster than me. There were over 40 different restaurants and vendors there. We knew from the start the best way to get through the event was divide and conquer [...]

Bloomspot: Devi

This past Tuesday, I posted a review of the Bloomspot deal I used at Devi a couple weeks back and the disappointing experience I had there regarding the confusion about the deal and rude service by restaurant management. A couple days later, Bloomspot emailed me after reading my post (I guess they subscribe to Google Alerts). They wanted to apologize for the less than stellar experience I had with the deal and the restaurant itself. I really appreciate great customer service, even more so when they go above and beyond the call of duty. It isn’t like CT or I [...]
