After an hour looking at puppies at the North Shore Animal League, DLS told me he was starving because he hadn’t eaten before meeting me in Queens (so I could drive to LI for the puppies!). After Canz, TC really wanted to go to this street meat cart. The games had been called on account of rain, none of us had umbrellas, but we gamely trekked around Astoria and discovered they’d gone home. Before I left for Peru, I was hungry and didn’t want to (really, couldn’t, with the empty fridge) cook, so I headed over to Corfu Grill to nom on some goodies. First up: the taramasalata, or cod roe dip, which is sufficient though still not the best I’ve ever had (in all fairness, the best I ever had was in Greece). Nice chew wedges of pita to dip in it; I’m a fan. With my main course came grilled/toasted pita and yummy tzatziki sauce, a ginormous, tasty salad.
