Every once in a while, I discover just how amazing I am. Sincerely, I am not bragging here.Just telling it like it is.Really, though, it’s how amazingly well I treat myself.I mean, sometimes life just takes a turn for “WTF” and you kind of want to just curl up in a ball and roll over and say “Forget it!” but insteadI made myself a sandwich. Not just any sandwich, my friend. But a pretty damn close approximation of … omfg… Roli Roti!!!Oh no I didn’t – but OH YES I DID *whimperYeah, that good. It’s a little labor intensive, but the end result is so [...]

It’s press-related week – dedicated to a couple of press events or products that I’ve received for review, etc… I know how you all love reading about these I was recently invited to sample Salumè, the newly opened ‘real Italian panini’ establishment in SoHo. The space itself is gorgeous – a square layout with huge picture windows in front, allowing as much light as there is in the sky right onto your table to illuminate the glorious food. There’s even a ‘mezzanine’ level of sorts in the back with more windows, a gorgeous chandelier, and excellent light. I watched [...]

Directly following my trip to Peru, I left on a research trip to the West Coast for two weeks. What was I researching? Glad you asked: a book on Stadium Eats! Um, yeah, without a deal in sight currently (hint, hint, anyone reading this who is interested!), I went to preemptively scout out the 6 West Coast stadiums and eat my way up and down the West Coast at the same time, starting in San Francisco, working my way down to Los Angeles, then San Diego, back up to San Francisco and then to Seattle! Phew! Tune in at 4:15 [...]

Ben’s Best and I have an odd relationship. Since I moved back to Forest Hills, I’ve eaten their food three times – twice in one month about 2 years ago, and then I got so mad, but not at them, that I gave up firmly for the past two years. I finally decided to give it another go right before I left for Peru, but am going to include all of the pictures. The first time I walked in was on a rainy day after work. I was tired and hungry, but I got off the bus one stop early, [...]

I had dinner with StB and the new fiance recently; she was back in town for the weekend, so we headed over to Ducks eatery because she’d heard a lot of good things about the food. Cute, right? Except the above is not what I saw when I was looking for the place (that photo was taken a few days later when I walked by and finally noticed it). That’s what I saw. See? The ducks are on the left side of the door. Why is it called Spin? Because it’s actually the eatery inside a ping pong club. I [...]
