Tuesdays with TT: CT at Highland Bakery

I am taking this week off and handing over the reins to my eater in crime, CT. Bon Appetit- TT.
Every year, my office sends us away for our annual training. This year we were in Atlanta, the land of great chefs such as Top Chef’s Richard Blais and Kevin Gillespie. So I decided to take this opportunity to write my inaugural solo restaurant review. It was my first time in the “deep south” and fortunately my friends and I found a local to provide us with some advice on where to eat in the city.
We arrived [...]

Bonfire Grill

I’ll be completely honest with you.  This isn’t a real post nor a real review.  It’s just pictures of what my friends and I ate one Saturday morning before they all went to the driving range and I headed off to the batting cages.  I ate at Bonfire and reviewed it (click here), so when they requested a brunch place in the area, this is what sprang to mind for a girly brunch.  I feel like I haven’t seen my friends in ages – which is probably true since I’ve been travelling and then studying my butt off – so [...]

ILILI

Before I left for Peru, ILILI began offering brunch in their spacious (I mean huge – I think the place holds 250 people?!) restaurant, and invited bloggers to come sample their brunch menu.  Despite brunch’s ill reputation as a service most kitchens hate to offer and as one of those things that many people just love saying “I’d rather make my own brunch at home and get exactly what I want without sitting on top of other people, I actually enjoy brunch out quite a bit.  It’s true that at the end of the day, what is so unique about brunch [...]

Southern Hospitality Brunch

On yet another lovely Saturday date, the BF and I shot over to the Upper East Side to check out Southern Hospitality’s brunch.  Specifically, their ‘all you can drink’ brunch, which I discovered too late was actually an additional $11.95, not just $11.95 for an entree + drinks.  (In my defense, at Philip Marie, the charge for unlimited brunch is $16.95 and includes your entree.  How was I supposed to know?)Despite that, BF decided we should do it anyway.  Okay, that’s fine by me!  We were pre-gaming before hitting up the Met anyways – museum browsing while intoxicated is pretty awesome, btw.  [...]

Bonfire Grill

One recent Sunday, BF and I took a walk over to Austin Street in Forest Hills for brunch.  We stumbled upon this place boasting a brunch special for $14.95 with two drinks, so we went inside and were seated quickly.  The menu was fairly standard, and we both quickly spotted items we like for brunch.  He of course opted to order the banana stuffed French toast, which was actually a croissant that had been ‘French toasted’ – BF wished there was a bit more syrup and that the overall hadn’t been as bland as it was.  He did say that [...]
