Shea Goodbye

I flew in from Napa Valley on Saturday; when we booked the tickets, I insisted on being back in time for this.  The final game at Shea.  What should have been the final regular season game at Shea, with a few postseason games tucked under our belts, some great memories more to come, and … well.  I could whine and complain and cry in frustration.  Which most Mets fans are doing right now.  But you’re here for the food, right?  Too bad.  There’s only a little bit of food in here.  This is my farewell to Shea.  (Posts about San [...]

Mama’s of Corona (Shea Stadium)

Ah, baseball again.  Sorry to do this to y’all, but look,. it’s food-geared, so bear with me.  When I read about Mama’s of Corona on Endless Simmer, I was incredibly excited.  I guess it makes sense though – you see, I have a Sunday plan, which means every Sunday that the Mets play at Shea, I’ve got tickets to that game.  And they’re in Section 2 (Mezzanine Reserved), which is almost directly behind and above home plate, so every time my future husband, David Wright, comes to bat, I can scream to my heart’s content knowing full well that he can [...]
