Tuesdays with TT: Mad. Sq. Eats Spring 2012

Tuesdays with TT: Mad. Sq. Eats Spring 2012

A couple weeks ago, it was announced that Mad. Sq. Eats was coming back once again this Spring. CT and I have both enjoyed it a lot during past iterations, so it wasn’t a question of whether we would return. As it has become quite popular, it is all about when you go. We decided to go for brunch this past Sunday hoping to beat the crowds on what turned out to be one of the nicest days of the year. This time around there were a bunch of new vendors than in the past, which helped freshen things up [...]

NYC Healthy Bites

NYC Healthy Bites

Recently, I was invited to an event at Garmento Lab to showcase a few healthy ways to eat. One of the products there was Pop Chips – which I’ve blogged about in the past -  and a coconut water company. I obviously avoided the coconut water (had no interest in dying, thanks! – allergic) – but I was surprised to find that Pop Chips has a new flavor: Sweet Potato!  I didn’t manage to try them that night, but funny enough, a week later my good friend TC gave me a large bag of them ‘just because’. Though they were [...]

Mad. Sq. Eats. Fall 2011

Mad. Sq. Eats. Fall 2011

Last weekend, CT and I were walking around the neighborhood and saw a bunch of tents going up in Worth Square. We knew what that means and with a confirmation from the Madison Square Park website, we saw that Mad. Sq. Eats. would be returning for Fall during September 23rd through October 21st. As you may remember from previous posts, CT & I have always enjoyed this event with its delicious foods. We arrived a little before noon on the first Saturday of the event and there was already quite the crowd. We took a walk around to see what [...]

Breakfast on the run and a snack (Panama)

Breakfast on the run and a snack (Panama)

Back towards the beginning of the year, CT and I learned that CT’s Sister’s Sister-in-Law would be getting married in Panama at the end of July. Why Panama? The Bride’s parents live down there now full-time. We learned that Panama has a huge ex-pat population mostly because it is so cheap and the U.S. Dollar is the functional currency down there. Since CT’s whole family is quite close with her brother-in-law’s family, we were all invited to the wedding. Since neither of us had been to Panama before, we decided to spend an extra couple days down there to explore [...]

Luke’s Lobster Truck (Nauti)

Luke’s Lobster Truck (Nauti)

When you walk by Luke’s Lobster, what do you do but stop and have a lobster roll?  After all the hype and positive press lately, I had to have one. TC and I opted to split one, because we were on our way to get burgers at Brindle Room (review of our experience to come).  This is the lobster roll before they cut it in half for us. Funny story: as I picked up my half of the lobster roll, a teeny tiny fruit fly flew into it.  I looked at it and debated picking it out, but realized I’d [...]
