Teresa’s Caffe

Teresa’s Caffe

Last month, CT & I returned to Princeton with ML & TL to help go through their old things being stored at their Parents’ house. They are going to be moving soon, so it was time to bite the bullet and decide what goes back to NYC or gets tossed. Before getting started, we needed some fuel so we stopped at a local Italian restaurant called Teresa’s Caffe. It has been a favorite of theirs since moving to Princeton and also got a good review from our friend, Hungry from Tasty Eating. We arrived right during the thick of a [...]

L’asso EV

L’asso EV

Sadly, as someone who eats out as often as I do, they cannot all be winners – but that doesn’t make the disappointment any less when I do get a dud. On this chilly Saturday evening in March, DLS, Lenny, FS and I headed over to L’asso. FS and I had discussed visiting a week or two prior to that, but schedules didn’t work out – and then ScoutMob came out with 50% off so obviously we had to go immediately. Small pieces of pita came as bread service, with olives, and all were fine – not standouts either way. [...]

Capizzi

Capizzi

As I’ve mentioned, I love theme nights… and this time it was beer & pizza (minus beer)! That night, Hungry, Sarah and I headed over to check out Hell’s Kitchen newcomer Capizzi. We ordered two pizzas to share – our server (who I think was also the owner) came over and served us, so I only got a photo of the whole pie for the above “loaded” specialty pie: provolone, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, roasted peppers, garlic & fresh oregano. Our other pie, prosciutto&arugula, with requisite upskirt: was very flavorful, with a nice char, though it was a little softer [...]

Rubirosa

Rubirosa

My darling KC, one of my very favorite people in the world, had only one birthday request: “I want pizza.”  Easy enough, I gave her a list from which to pick, and Rubirosa came up the winner.  The menu tantalized her for weeks beforehand; every other day I received a new message with another suggestion for something she wanted to eat there, and I agreed – the menu looked like it was tailored entirely to the things she likes to eat.  I was excited.  Since we were a group of six, and the small pies came with 6 slices each, [...]

Tuesdays with TT: Company

Tuesdays with TT: Company

As long time readers of Feisty Foodie know, we love our pizza. The artisanal pizza “trend” of the past couple of years has been very good for us here in NYC. One restaurant that has been on my list for a couple of years now is Company. This Chelsea pizza place was opened a few years back by Jim Lahey of Sullivan Street Bakery fame. Mr. M&P brought their potato flatbread to our last potluck. CT & I finally made our way there on the super quiet Saturday after Thanksgiving since we couldn’t stomach any more leftovers. We weren’t the [...]
