While I try to post every meal I consume, that just isn’t possible. So while I’ve posted about Ayza midtown you may not realize that I’ve been there a good handful of times – with the girls usually – to snack, drink, or both. I’ve enjoyed the atmosphere, the outdoor seating, the snacks and everything, but only posted about it that one time. Well, I was invited to go to the newest Ayza location – downtown – and have a ‘date night’ as it was called. We were greeted with little cups of spiced wine. I’m abstaining from alcohol currently, [...]

The day after Valentine’s Day, I met up with Sarah to watch the Milly fashion show. (One of my closest friends works for Milly; I’m not fashionable, at all, but it was a ton of fun and I loved seeing my friend’s touches here and there in the outfits we viewed, super cool! Congrats again!) Afterwards, while wandering on our way, we decided, being so close to Time Warner Center, we should go have a snack at Bouchon Bakery. Yes, please… yes. I have this thing for root beer, especially brewers I haven’t yet experienced. Fitz’s is one such brand [...]

Two of my greatest pleasures in life are introducing people to restaurants and food that I truly enjoy, and meeting people who love food as much as or more than I do. I was able to combine these two things recently when FS’s girl friend visited her from Chicago, by not just recommending Casellula – one of my favorite wine bars for dinner – but also joining them, where I met C, who turned out to love food. It was one of the more enjoyable conversations I’ve had with someone I’ve just met in a long time – food, girl [...]
Au Pied de Cochon
When it was first decided that DLS and I were going to Montreal, there was only one place I wanted to visit. I first heard of this place in 2008 through this blog post – and it stuck in my head since then. I don’t even know what, exactly, in that post made me want to eat here desperately, but whenever Montreal has been suggested to me, I’ve thought of Au Pied de Cochon. DLS made reservations for our last evening in Montreal, and though I felt a little sick after overindulging (bagels, poutine, deli sandwiches, and then snacks in [...]

After Eddie’s, Beer Boor left to go about his own business, leaving Hungry, TC, MadJac and I to wander the few blocks over to Danny Brown Wine Bar. I first heard of this place years ago from Avenue Food, and I’ve always meant to get over there but never had the chance. I’ve gone in for a glass of wine before a movie, but that was the extent of it… and then, late last year, news broke: Queens had its first Michelin star, and Danny Brown had brought it home for us. Wow. So I was even more excited to [...]
