Another week, another adventure cooking for DLS! This week, I went the easy route – I forget why, exactly, but I made chipotle lime crusted chicken - I believe because I really wanted to make an avocado salad on the side. Part of the fun of cooking just for me has always been that I get to make things to exactly my own tastes and never, ever think twice about what someone else might like or not like. Part of the fun of cooking for someone else has always been trying to balance what I like with what they like – which [...]

One of the (many) ways I show people that I care is cooking for them. I’ve had a few chances to thank DLS for being such a wonderful friend by cooking for him, and thought I’d share some of what I’ve made so far. After a day of apartment viewing, Shake Shack eating, and just general wandering around, being inside Eataly gave me the bright idea of making dinner to eat while watching the Pro Bowl. (Yes, that’s how long ago this was.) Because I was going to have to use his kitchen, I chose to use some shortcuts instead [...]

CT & I have been back for from our Panama trip for a little while now and already have a bunch of NYC based posts for you. Rather than let them get “stale,” we are gonna have a couple bonus posts at 12:15. Enjoy! I’ve been Tweeting recently a lot about the love that dare not say its name: liquid cheese. I love liquid cheese. I’m not really ashamed of it, because I’ve always said if it tastes good, eat it. And to me, a jar of Tostitos salsa con queso along with a bag of Tostitos hint of lime chips… tastes really good. (This isn’t even a sponsored post… I just really like their products.) A night in with a DVD or just some TV, chips and dip, I’m happy. But… as much as I like it, I know that it’s not that [...]
Recipe Fridays: Bulgogi Lettuce Wraps

As I mentioned yesterday, I had lettuce coming out of my ears at one point. Hungry made the comment that she’s used lettuce leaves as “taco shells” so I set out to do just that. I had a ton of scallions from my CSA as well, so that was the topping. BeerBoor gifted me a large jar of almond butter, so I doctored that to make a sauce as well. But you want to know what the protein was… it’s so simple, I almost shouldn’t even mention this. A package of Trader Joe’s “bool kogi” (bulgogi, marinated meat slices). [...]
