The end of January means one thing; CT’s Birthday! It’d been a while since the Birthday Brunch Bunch met up to celebrate, and with MD/PB moving to CA, we all met up just after the New Year to celebrate, say hi, and catch up. The culinary staycation continues… One restaurant that has been on “The List” for a while now is Barbuto owned by Chef Jonathan Waxman. We met him at Meatopia a couple of years ago and were rooting for him on Top Chef Masters. He seemed like a real down-to-Earth guy that cooks simple, rustic food very well. I celebrate every occasion with food (and some non-occasions, clearly), so the 2012 FBM Cookie Swap was no exception. This year, it was up to Hungry, KC and myself to do it up big and show what’s up when it came to cookies… but before that, we had to eat, of course. Apartment hunting makes me hungry… especially when the real estate agent starts listing all the great restaurants in the area.
