Side Door @ Beacon 3: Cobb Salad

I’ve become a quick fan, almost a regular, at The Side Door @ Beacon since they opened a few weeks ago as a relatively inexpensive lunch alternative to the “real” Beacon. Side Door started with an exemplary burger and the Mr. Pink’s Double Dog, and recently expanded to prepared salads.

As usual, no real line at the Door, and though the skies threatened, it didn’t rain.

Last week, CT was on a stay-cation.  I am a big fan of the stay-cation, especially when you live in NYC.  There is so much to do and see, that it is nice not having to worry about going to work. Ipanema

I’ve been hearing about Ipanema from a buddy of mine (hi Adam!) for years now… literally.  He raves about this place almost as though it were his or family owned so a bunch of us gathered on a muggy day to check out the goodies… Chorizo or was this kalabeza?  Spiced sausage, pretty tasty… I was picking this up and just eating it alone! As I’ve mentioned in the past, Midtown Lunch Happy Hours are kind of my thing – from the last three we’ve had, the food… May was at Snafu, a lovely bar that is ‘bring your own food’ – so we did!  Dried squid/cuttlefish…  various mochi offerings Chewy and sweet!
