Grand Central Terminal Market – St. Patrick’s Day Goodies

Grand Central Terminal Market – St. Patrick’s Day Goodies

I’ve mentioned plenty of times how much I like shopping around Grand Central Terminal, and of course they have some St. Patty’s Day offerings.  Yum!  Their PR representative sent over some stuff for me to try… This Shamrock Brownie – you know I don’t like chocolate, but I had to take a big bite out of this (and stop myself from eating the whole thing).  Super fudgy, dense, chocolaty… wow.  If you like chocolate, you really need to pick up one of these adorable brownies – it’ll send you into choco-coma.  Leprechaun cupcake – I gave this to [...]

New Year’s Eve 2009

New Year’s Eve 09 was a different sort for me.  BB took over from HB the party duties, and while I always have a good time with my friends, something was different that day.  I just didn’t feel like going to a party with other people and all that.  I wanted to stay in and snuggle on the couch, watch the ball drop – actually, I wanted to watch Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Netflix!), pig out, and just enjoy a quiet night in.  This year marked the 10th year since I first went out for NYE instead of staying in with my [...]

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day Feasting

Ohhh boy, it’s the Feisty Family Christmas Eve Feast!  Actually, it’s going to be both days – Christmas Eve & Christmas… nomnomnom.  Above you can see the Xmas present I gave my sister – a tiered serving platter stand.  The platters are dishwasher safe, shatter resistant, and came with 6 platters – 3 clear, 3 clear-red, and I believe 2 divided (one each).  Perfect for our family gatherings – it creates so much space and allows us to display the appetizers nicely.  Grape tomatoes, deviled eggs, chips, homemade salsa, carrot sticks, black olives, celery sticks and I’m not sure [...]

Cluster Potluck

Much like last year, my cluster at work had a potluck to celebrate the holidays.  It was a fun, inexpensive way to get everyone together and mark another year survived at our firm   Per what is now I guess tradition, Mama BB brought in Popeye’s fried chicken, half spicy, half regular.  Mmm that was good.  I accidentally took a piece of spicy but yowsa… yum!  Another what is now tradition: Mama LC’s pernil.  Damn, if last year was good, this year was even BETTER.  I didn’t think it was possible, but super succulent and tender and [...]

Thanksgiving 2009

I know it’ll be January before this post goes live, but people seem to really enjoy my Thanksgiving posts or posts where I talk about what my family ate, and I really enjoy writing them… so it all works out.  Right?  Right As I’ve mentioned before, it’s not a Feisty Family gathering if there’s no deviled eggs.  Thanksgiving 09 was no exception.  Yum!  (I won’t tell you how many I ate… it’s quite gross.)  This year, my sister prepped everything, but it was my cousin who actually scooped/plated them Our usual crudite, this year with blue cheese.  [...]
