Shake Shack (UES)

Shake Shack (UES)

Yup, yet another Shake Shack opened.  I’ve no shame in admitting my adoration of Shake Shack.  I love the burger, hate the hype.  It’s a good burger, made better by my personal preferences (smaller burger with a lot of flavor going on but not too much in the way of toppings).  It is indeed my favorite burger in the city, though I know that it isn’t going to be everyone’s favorite (too much hype; not enough burger; whatever your preference, this might not be it).  In any case, I’ve enjoyed going to the various other Shake Shacks as they’ve [...]

Directly following my trip to Peru, I left on a research trip to the West Coast for two weeks.  What was I researching?  Glad you asked: a book on Stadium Eats!  Um, yeah, without a deal in sight currently (hint, hint, anyone reading this who is interested!), I went to preemptively scout out the 6 West Coast stadiums and eat my way up and down the West Coast at the same time, starting in San Francisco, working my way down to Los Angeles, then San Diego, back up to San Francisco and then to Seattle!  Phew!  Tune in at 4:15 [...]

Product Review: Bertolli Cheese Tortelloni in a Tomato Cream Sauce

I’m really big on trying foods that I think I don’t like – something that I’ve eaten in the past and perhaps not been too thrilled with how it tasted, or just didn’t appreciate as much as other people seemed to – trying them again after a decent amount of time has passed, just to give them a fair shake.  I do this quite a bit, giving a few years between each try of a food… although some things, like olives, I kept trying a few times a month because they are just, by nature, something I should like!  Errr, anyway…Basically, a while [...]

Tuesdays with TT: BONUS: The Book of Tapas Release Party

Soon after I signed up as an official correspondent for Feisty Foodie, I was invited to a book release party in Soho. The book is called “The Book of Tapas” and there would be tapas and Spanish wine and sherry. Basically a win-win situation for me. Who doesn’t like tapas and wine? Alex Raij of Txikito and El Quinto Pino was the host of the evening. Apparently she was a contributor to the book, but not the author.
The party was at the Phaidon Store in Soho. Basically a store for all of [...]
