I keep regular office hours when I’m working from home, but often I’ll find time to slip out for lunch… one of the many benefits to working from home and working for yourself is being able to take two hour lunches. Not that it took me two hours, but y’know… I could have, if I wanted. Of course, then I don’t get paid… haha. I met up with a friend; Thai coffee and Thai iced tea. Yum!I heart the mee krob at Sripraphai, so when I saw it on the menu of a place much closer to me, [...]

You know how much I like Sripraphai, so when I heard they opened up a Long Island location, and close-ish to where my sister lives, I had to check it out. She took me there for my birthday actually, which was fun because I honestly can’t remember the last time we had a meal together, just the two of us – we usually roll with the fams, y’know? (And yes, that means this meal was in October sometime…) I started off with a Thai iced tea, which, to my surprise, my sister never had before. It [...]

I’d heard once or twice how great & authentic Chao Thai was, first from a few foodie friends, from a Thai friend, from reliable sources, but I just hadn’t been able to get over there yet. I finally made my way with BFF for our semi-monthly-dinner…
The place is really tiny. After comically changing tables like 3 times (at the waitress’s request), we ordered Thai iced teas. This becomes very important later. Oh, they were good, not too sweet.
There are items listed on the menu with an asterisk by its name, indicating that it is a spicy [...]

Sripraphai has long been lauded as the best, most authentic Thai in New York. When I went last year, I never saw the lines people warned me about, but I hadn’t gone for dinner on a Friday night apparently. LTS/BFF and I decided to go last Friday and pulled up to see this madness outside the restaurant.
Well, it looked like madness, taking into consideration a few things: there is nothing else on that block that these people would be waiting for; the restaurant, while close to the train, isn’t near much else; and do you see how many non-Asian people [...]
Boon Chu

I recently went back to Boon Chu for dinner with Esther of Ambitious Delicious(ness), whom you may remember from this post. Exciting news we had to discuss, but you’ll find out about that later. Eventually. We’ll see.
It was Esther’s first time to Boon Chu, but we both wanted to eat new things, so we kind of randomly picked. The above is the duck salad, which was good flavor-wise, but the duck was more like duck jerky, which disappointed me quite a bit. (I recently had duck salad, a similar dish with more ingredients but similar in flavor [...]
