Bon Chon

Bon Chon

As you probably already know, we at Feisty Foodie love Korean Fried Chicken, particularly at Bon Chon. A couple months back, InBundles came out with a deal of $20 for $40 worth of food from the Bon Chon near the Empire State Building. After I bought the deal, I saw the fine print that it was basically only available if you go before 5 pm. With the proliferation of deal websites out there, I have come to the realization that these deals can end up being the proverbial albatross around my neck. It seems most of the deals I purchase, [...]

Dok Suni

Dok Suni

One rainy Tuesday night, I got tickets for DLS and I to watch Mock Your World – a hilarious music act of sorts making fun of everything, though focusing mostly on musical theater.  In any case, he wisely pointed out that we’d be hungry beforehand and asked if we could have Korean food.  I’m nothing if not accommodating (hahaahahahahhhah!), so I quickly checked the internet and found that within reasonable walking distance was Dok Suni.  (Though he’ll tell you that my idea of ‘reasonable walking distance’ is not quite what everyone else thinks, he’s WRONG!!  Chinatown to Hell’s Kitchen is [...]

Miss Korea BBQ

Miss Korea BBQ

CT & I have been back for from our Panama trip for a little while now and already have a bunch of NYC based posts for you. Rather than let them get “stale,” we are gonna have a couple bonus posts at 12:15. Enjoy! The day after Hurricane Irene paid a visit to the tri-state area, most forms of inter-state transportation were still offline. As such, CT was unable to get to her office in Connecticut, so she worked from home. As for me, I braved the empty streets of Manhattan for my usual walk to to work. Since the [...]

Food Gallery 32 Revisited

Back in April, I got a Groupon email advertising a deal for Bian Dang inside Food Gallery 32. The deal was for $5 you get Taiwanese Fried Chicken or Pork with Rice, Sauce, and Dumplings. Considering this would normally cost $11, it was a great deal. You may remember the last time I had Bian Dang I enjoyed it very much. The deal seemed to be too much food for one person, so instead of going during lunch, I waited until CT was around so we could go for dinner. I figured if we get something else from one of [...]

Kimchi Taco Truck

Kimchi Taco Truck

TT says: I’m taking the day off and letting CT take over. Enjoy! Ever since first hearing about the Kimchi Taco Truck on Midtown Lunch, I’ve been wanting to try it. Unfortunately, I don’t work in an area that gets frequented by food trucks. After a failed attempt at the Brewer’s PicNYC, I was excited to discover the truck was parked nearby on my day off. Looking at the menu, I remembered that they were known for their amazing “Kim-cheesesteaks,” however, I just wasn’t quite in a sandwich mood. So I decided to go for the Kimchi Bowl with spicy [...]
