Seems like everyone wants to see bento in more detail here, as opposed to just on Instagram. Let me catch up from when I re-started then…
Basic salad with tonnato dressing; mangos and cherries; quick pickles; roasted mushrooms.
Salad; housemade duck prosciutto; avocado.
This is what happens when I’m left to my own devices and I don’t want to be.
Grape tomatoes; pickles; cherries; noodle salad.
Roasted mushrooms with fresh peas; triple crème brie; rotini tossed with tonnato; watermelon
Local strawberries; summer squash; dressed potatoes; salad
Don’t worry – as I catch up and start posting these closer to when I’ve eaten them, there will be more details, more stories, and more of me 🙂
Any questions or want more details, recipes about anything in the bento, just ask!
Thanks for always being supportive!!!

YAY! Bentos!!! ^_^

What is tonnato? Well…guess I can google it, but what is it?
Feisty Foodie says
It’s traditionally a “dressing”/sauce served over cold veal.

The chef was really into it. It’s quite tasty, and the first few weeks of salads made me think it was like a riff on my salad of the moment, nicoise – since it had the fish element, and then the salads had potatoes, green beans, etc. It’s pretty good as a salad dressing even if that’s not what it’s traditionally used for.

They look very healthy. I’d be snacking on cheetos later. lol
Feisty Foodie says
You know very well that some days I was… 😛

I love the colors of all the bentos! What do your work colleagues bring for lunch? Are they ever jealous?
Feisty Foodie says
I’m not sure. They don’t really see my lunch as I often take it outside to eat (in nice weather)… and when it’s not nice, they don’t really eat with me (they tend to eat in their offices). One of my colleagues eats a Lean Cuisine every day, I don’t think she’s jealous of my lunch. Two others are on perpetual diets so they eat salads and things like that, or they order food, I’m not sure they’d be jealous either (though one of them really likes a wide variety of cuisines; I introduced her to my current pho place and she goes there like once a week now, haha). Only one person might be jealous of my lunch, but she also cooks and brings her own lunch occasionally too. Hahaha. Was that too detailed? 🙂

I made Steven his own bento this morning – inspired by you [of course] and the fact that it is Catholic Friday [no meat] and I had a ton load of weird leftovers.
It included roasted potatoes with garlic/paprika, sweet and sour coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese. ::laughing:: I saved his coworkers from leftover sauerkraut [saving that to make more ruebens tommorrow] but he did get a piece of homemade apple pie too.
His coworkers drool [and laugh I am sure] at what I send and in the man eats. It reminded me when you said “Left to my own devices.. . ” Hell, it’s 4:30 am. He is lucky I am not packing a can of dog food or breakfast cereal! ::grin::
xo Hugs and much love my friend. J

Haha, that sounds like a great lunch! You should see some of the lunches upcoming – let’s just say that I really am incapable of taking care of myself sometimes.

Yay, you are back to bento. I wish I remembered to take photos and blog mine like you do.
Feisty Foodie says
That’s why I use my phone – I always have it on me, especially while I eat, so might as well snap a photo 🙂
Fred says
You said to ask any questions we have
so, regarding bentos – does the B in FBM stand for bentos?
Feisty Foodie says
It does not. Fred, I don’t know if I’ve already told you this, but I am no longer a part of nor affiliated with FBM, so you are asking the wrong person about it.
Fred says
….but affiliated or not, you still know what it means…….
Feisty Foodie says
Just email me and I’ll tell you.
hungry says
I don’t see enough potatoes in your bentos.
Feisty Foodie says
Yeah there was only potato in one of these. I became more obsessed with potatoes as time went on
