Comme Ci Comme Ça Truck

Comme Ci Comme Ça Truck

One of the more unique trucks in NYC is the Comme Ci Comme Ça truck which features Moroccan food. Luckily for me it often parks a few blocks from my office. I have been a handful of times and enjoyed the different offerings such as the merguez platter and lemon chicken sandwich very much. I read the Downtown section of Midtown Lunch recently tried the “Basmati Royale,” which offers all of its meats in one platter. It sounded like something right up my alley. On my way, I stopped to take a picture of the Sunrise Grill truck because I [...]

Bubby’s Pie Company

Bubby’s Pie Company

I’m on a search for the best fried chicken in the city.  I’ve talked about fried chicken so many times here, and noted that I’ve yet to find truly amazing fried chicken.  I’ve gone on a Fat Chick Fried Chicken Feast, and things still came up short.  I’ve been to the lauded Hill Country Chicken but it just doesn’t impress me… In any case, I decided to revisit a place where I’d thought the food was OK, but a friend had mentioned the fried chicken being good, when I found out they stay open 24 hours (except on Mondays, when [...]

It’s time for the fourth… but perhaps not final… giveaway in our month of giveaways here at the Feisty Foodie! (I have some other tricks up my sleeve, you’ll see… perhaps we shall continue!) I’ve mentioned Restaurant.com on this site several times in the past, but I can’t figure out a way to easily link to the times I’ve done so. Basically: I’ve used their site (notably for Hill Country) in the past and have enjoyed the discounts afforded me by them. It makes some restaurants – especially Hill Country! – that are slightly on the higher end of my [...]

Dater Mountain – Hiking Lunch

Recently, StB, C2, HB, BF and I drove upstate to Dater Mountain to hike.  Unfortunately, it started raining just as we got there, and it was about noon, so we sat in the car and ate the lunches we’d brought.  I took this opportunity to pack something cute for the BF… because I’m nutty like that.  He agreed… because he loves me I’m sure I’ve mentioned many, many, many… many many times in the past, that BF is a man of simple tastes.  So while I made it cute, I didn’t make it fancy.  White bread layered with Boar’s Head [...]

Kamut International: Ancient Grains

I recently had the good fortune to be invited to attend an information session about Kamut International ancient grains.  I didn’t know much about ancient grains before this, so it was really interesting!  Just so you know – this was taken at the place – at the end, we each went home with goodie bags that looked like this.  “Everybody Eats Lunch” (affiliate link) is an awesome book that was written by the woman whose apartment we were in, Cricket Azima.  I shared that one with my nephews, and they love it!  Gorgeous set up – the Kamut puffed cakes [...]
