To those who are Facebook fans of The Feisty Foodie (and if you’re not, you should be; not least of all because if you’re not, you miss out on things like this!), you’ll recall that I ran a quick contest a few weeks ago for two Foodzie tasting boxesFoodzie was kind enough to send one along to me, and mine contained 479o Popcorn, bacon peanut brittle from Redhead in NYC! why haven’t I had it before?!, alfajores, Little Ragghi’s parmesan crackers, and heirloom beans.

Though I haven’t had a chance to make the beans, I have thoroughly enjoyed every other piece of this tasting box, and love that a recipe for the dried beans is included.  I already knew I liked the 479 Popcorn when I tried them at Fbzfest this year, but the bacon peanut brittle from Redhead (must…get…there…to…get…more!  It’s in NYC!) – awesome!  The parmesan crackers were an excellent munch while sipping on cocktails at home, and the cookies are great too.  Yum!!!

I absolutely adore the idea of the tasting box, and wouldn’t mind receiving a subscription as a gift… ahem.  I definitely will be gifting this to a few people in the future- perfect to help you explore and expand your knowledge of foods local to places where you might not be.

Love it!

Usual disclaimer: I received this product for free as thanks for hosting a contest for them, but I was under no obligation to post positive or negative opinions, or at all. Thanks again to Foodzie for sending me this!

    Nice box!

I still haven’t tried that bacon peanut-brittle yet. Maybe I should buy a bag for myself.

You should make it to The Redhead. Though it seems the menu has changed since I went over a year ago, their fried chicken, which was the highest rated by SENY was fantastic. Of course, the aforementioned bacon peanut brittle is also pretty good, put them together for a nice meal…I just wish they took reservations.
