Salumi

Salumi

Directly following my trip to Peru, I left on a research trip to the West Coast for two weeks.  What was I researching?  Glad you asked: a book on Stadium Eats!  Um, yeah, without a deal in sight currently (hint, hint, anyone reading this who is interested!), I went to preemptively scout out the 6 West Coast stadiums and eat my way up and down the West Coast at the same time, starting in San Francisco, working my way down to Los Angeles, then San Diego, back up to San Francisco and then to Seattle!  Phew!  Tune in at 4:15 [...]

New Belgium Ranger IPA

Out in Fort Collins, Colorado, New Belgium Brewing has been making a huge variety of beer. Absolutely huge. I’d like to talk about what’s pretty much a first for the brewery — an India Pale Ale, in the American, Pacific-Northwest style, sold not only on draft and in the brewer’s signature banded bottles, but also in cans. What comes to mind when people say New Belgium Brewing? Fat Tire Amber Ale. Don’t get me wrong, Fat Tire is a fine Belgian Amber, modeled on DeKoninck’s Amber — a classic Belgian beer from a respected Belgian brewer — and it pays [...]

Veniero’s

Veniero’s

When last I posted about Veniero’s, I mentioned how disappointed I was that they got rid of the tiramisu cup.  After Congee Village, we all wanted dessert, so we took the short drive up to Veniero’s, and I was eager to see if, in the months since I’d last been, they’d returned it to the menu.  Unfortunately, this was not the case, but I gamely decided to try something else – the menu looked different again, in any case.  BF and JP both ordered the molten lava cake; unfortunately, JP’s was cooked all the way through, so he sent it [...]

Thursdays with TT: Veloce Pizzeria

Thursdays with TT: Veloce Pizzeria

Over the past couple of months I have become quite the food blogger. I or (CT) bring a camera to every restaurant we go to. Since Yvo has been busy with school, I am stepping up and will now have a weekly column, Tuesdays with TT. Bon Appetit! UPDATE: I am becoming a blogging machine, so I will also be reporting on Thursday afternoons for you. CT has been traveling a lot lately for work. During one of her visits back to the city, we were able to go out for dinner. I suggested we use one of my BlackBoard [...]
