I thought this place was alright enough, so post-Cupcake Crawl and post 5 glasses of prosecco (not a good idea, btw, not after eating 10 different cupcakes), the BFF, her new-boo, another friend and I all headed over to May Chan for some sort of dinner.
I dub thee… NBS (New Boo S** – hey, don’t complain, it could be a LOT worse, considering you’re a Phillies fan!)… and BFF opted to split this yakitori sampler platter. I heard no complaints so it must’ve been alright.
Ramen was ordered.
Ramen was eaten.
Someone else’s ramen.
Someone else eating their ramen.
I can’t even really tell you why, but this time around, I was seriously disappointed by the ramen, enough so that I’ve decided I probably won’t be going back. It just wasn’t that good – I’m sure it sufficed, but I found myself really wishing I’d insisted we walk over to my favorite place instead of just going where was closest. How sad for me – I really like the location.
Yvo says: I don’t think the quality of the ramen went drastically down since my previous visit, just that I woke up out of the bubble and realized… meh. It’s OK. Nothing special. I suppose if I was walking by and a friend wanted ramen, we could go in, especially since there continues to be no wait for a table, but it isn’t a place I will go out of my way to visit. I suppose it never really was… but sometimes I am just very painfully aware that I get only a certain number of calories per day, and I just don’t want to waste it on mediocre food!
meh, middle of the road (downgrade)

the huge kettles of beer are the best thing about this place.

I still haven’t been. Not too curious myself unless I’m ever in the area with friends and want Ramen.
