Project 365: Day 89

Mmm… Tuesday night, I took some time and made up a pot of BBQ braised short ribs, then skimmed all the fat from the wonderfully delicious homemade BBQ sauce at the bottom of the pot, added a roux, thickened it and shredded all the meat.  Roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon, roasted broccoli… add some rotelle pasta into the mix and DAMN THAT ISH is BANGIN’ son!!!  God I eat so well.  Anyways, this was part of the leftovers and made an AWESOME lunch… another day spent at home just working on the blog, working on school projects due when we [...]

Project 365: Day 88

Yep, that was lunch on yet another lazy day of spring break – my sister packed me a plate of my mother’s birthday feast from last week, tostones, maduros, salchipapas, pollo, arroz, ‘salsa verde’ in the little jar and awesome beans in the big container.  I don’t know, it’s the Matador from Pio Pio (I’ve never eaten there actually).  That green sauce was too spicy for me after just a teeny dip!  Craziness!  And I couldn’t finish everything for lunch, but it was all damn tasty, tasty stuff… Another wonderful day of my spring break.  Enjoying myself thoroughly right now!  What [...]

Taste of 7th

Disappointed as I was on Saturday that a certain place had run out of Valrhona chocolate pudding, I picked up a container of their banana pudding instead and um, can I tell you that I am officially obsessed with banana pudding now?  This is only the 2nd time I’ve ever had banana pudding (I KNOW WHERE HAVE I BEEN?) but I am now determined to make it and make it without extract in such an amaaaaaaaaazing way, that I would have to share the recipe.  So if you have one, please share.  It was really good.  Wow.  Then I headed [...]
