The Art of Eating In Giveaway!

February 8, 2010 by Feisty Foodie

Cathy.jpg

Something exciting! another contest!

Fellow NY food blogger, Cathy Erway (of Not Eating Out in NY) has written a book about her intense journey, well, not eating out in NY.  I’ve been an avid reader and fan of her blog since near inception; it was something I considered a few times but I just… well, I can’t do it.  No, that’s not true, I CAN, I just don’t want to.  But I completely respect Cathy’s mission and have adored reading about it from the beginning and still now!  Her book is due out on 2/18 and can be pre-ordered here (affiliate link) – or you can enter this contest to win a free copy, sent directly to you!  (Sooner than winners of the last contest, I promise!)

All you have to do to enter the contest is post a comment below telling me what I should cook next – try to get me back to my not-eating-out roots!!!  This contest is open to all US residents.  I will use Randomizer.org to pick the winner on 2/15 and the book will be sent out shortly after.  (I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but I bet it will be awesome, I can’t wait to get my own copy!!!)

Good luck!

How about eggplant parmesan? I just discovered you can bake the eggplant slices, which makes it so much easier and less messy. I suppose it’s healthier as well, but who cares? It tastes just as good this way. You can also combine it in the baking dish with chicken and have an eggplant/chicken parmesan combo. Yum. Good for cold weather.

I say a shepherd’s pie. Great comfort food in winter and it’s easy but looks so hard!

Peasant Potato Pie is always a winter favorite of mine…and if it snows there, you’ll have plenty leftover!

Last week I tried an egg yolk filled ravioli for the first time and it was incredible. I tried to replicate it at home but found that I need to use smaller eggs. In any case, it would be incredible if you could replicate this dish I had at SD26. Egg yolk filled ravioli with ricotta and herbs in truffle butter.

I don’t know about you, but all this snow and yucky weather makes me want baked pasta like whoa… Maybe a lasagna or fancied-up baked ziti dish?

    Pierogi! (with potato and onion.)
if you do end up ever making them, you should give them a try dipped in sour cream. mmm, so good.

Roast chicken and baby red potatoes – always so scrumptious, and not much work. My husband used to eat all meals at restaurants, I used to cook all my own, and now we are trying to compromise, but it’s far too easy to have him just pick up food…um..like he’s doing now from Chipotle’s as I type!

  26. Karen M says
