I’d really hoped today’s picture would be of a brand new car… ie, my own brand new car!… but no one really wanted to sell me a car today. I swear – even the salesman who had a car within my budget, he just wouldn’t sell it to me. The first one really took the cake though – the first thing she asked me was “Are you Asian?” (does it matter?) and then followed up with, “Oh, because you don’t look like it” – then why would you ask me? Seriously, would you go up to someone who didn’t look Asian and ask them if they are Asian??? – and when I showed her the price I got from the Honda website, she told me she couldn’t give it to me for that price; I responded with “So you’re telling me that this is complete bullshit?” she actually looked me dead in the eye and said, “Yeah, I think so,” and LAUGHED. Dude, if you want to pull that move where you pretend you’re on my side, well, you suck at it. Seriously.
So after that debacle, BF and I swung into the city for a brief moment to pick up some stuff, have dinner, then we swung by Midtown Comics on our way home just to grab some books. Unfortunately, I had to wait in the car, so I took the above pic while waiting… Fortunately, the BEST BF IN THE WORLD found the book I’ve been trying to get a clean copy of, and picked it up for me 🙂 I haven’t started reading it yet because I’m totally in love with one of the characters, love the story, and this is the last book (it ended a while ago)… I’ll be really sad when it’s over, especially because the character with whom I’m in love… dies.
Despite not getting a car and some road blocks in my way, another great day spent with the one I love: car shopping, shoe shopping, dinner, comics… and snuggling. 🙂

Re: asinine comments from the car dealership lady; a (former) friend asked me with horror after years of knowing her “Wait, are you white??!!”. Upon introduction ex’s friends inquired “Wait, are you white or something? Oh, ok” as the laughter and conversation suddenly died down. The ex is an ex because I am indeed white. So enjoy the mildness of the encounter and that at least it was a completely ignorant stranger as opposed to people whom you considered closest. And boy being Asian would have smoothed things over for me. Good “choice”.
