Sundays are meant to be my lazy days, but sometimes, things don’t quite work out the way they’re meant to. I sort of kind of meant to get to the grocery store in the morning, but held off, then when I finally popped my head in, it was such madness that I scurried away to Pho Bang for some pho. Best pho in NYC, in my humblest of opinions. Tasty, full broth, delicious noodles, awesome accoutrements… I <3 this place! And a big steaming bowl of noodles was perfect on this chilly day. I downed my bowl and off we [...]

A glorious Saturday; a wonderful celebratory lunch with the BFF/LTS (resident of the month again! woohoo!). Paninis, frites, then cupcakes and cafe au lait (pictured above). A bit of showing off my new wheels, then back home where the BF picked me up and we headed to have a quick bite, then the movies (Sherlock Holmes). Another blissful, happy day, spent with people I care about… happy smiles all around What is Project 365? Share and Enjoy:

Officially my first full day ‘free’ Friday was actually full of frantic running around. A brief apperance at the final Midtown Lunch! with the founder/godfather of ML himself! and then off to City Crab with my friends MK and Dr. PB. CONGRATULATIONS to MK!!! who announced her engagement!!! Awesome! Then a bit of Barnes & Noble browsing, looking at dresses and wedding designs for MK. After that, a brief run back home to try to work a bit before heading back into the city to meet up with AB and HB for drinks, dinner, and dessert (pictured above). We hit [...]

Being a frequent patron and supporter of the banh mi cart, I admit I was interested and a bit disturbed by the news of Baoguette opening nearby. Sure it would be great to finally try Baoguette – which has received many raves from friends of mine – but then… it just seems like unnecessary competition for the cart. Sad for them, I hope they do alright… Outside Baoguette is a sign that explains what comprises a banh mi. I opted for the regular Baoguette. Please note that at this downtown location, it is $6, not $5 like at many (most? [...]

I received about half a dozen messages asking me how I was enjoying my ‘first day of freedom’ today. If I’d been in a nastier mood (which almost happened), I’d have yelled “WHAT FREEDOM!?” at everyone. The morning started off with snow, falling thick & fast, the trek to my mother’s to pick up my beloved Blue Thunder, then driving to school a bit … well, nervous! The visibility was really low; I used to drive a V8 SUV with great pickup and AWD (4WD?), and great visibility. Now I’m driving a teeny car that all the trucks tower over… [...]
